In the end Aphmau, Aaron, Nicole, Laurence, Garroth, and Travis all spent the night in the ER waiting room before getting any news about Dante, and the news they did get was good. Besides a few broken ribs, a fracture in his leg and a broken arm Dante was going to be fine. He would need to stay a few days in the hospital, which honestly was completely expected, after all nobody got hit by a car going that fast and didn't stay at least the night.

The only problem was that only three people could see him at a time, and while Aphmau was dying to check on him they all agreed that Travis, Garroth and Laurence deserved to see him first and explain what happened. This left Aphmau and Aaron alone and stressed out, so the best thing they could think of to do was wander around the hospital. Their first stop was the Child Wing of the hospital.

All the children they came across at first had their parents with them and were surrounded by toys and other comfort items until they came across a single boy sitting in a hospital room. He had bags under his beautiful green eyes and his brown hair was a mess. He looked clearly exhausted and sad to say the least. There were no toys around him, no parents, nothing but the plane old hospital room he was staying in. He looked so... broken, and seeing him in that state made Aphmau feel sad for him.

She gave a gentle tap on the door and peeked her head in, looking at the boy. "Hello, what's your name?"

The boy looked down, then cleared his throat. "Malachi." He said simply.

"What are you doing here?" Aaron asked, both of them looking at the boy who looked completely healthy as he sat in his bed. "Are you alright?"

"I have... I have Hippo-hype..."

"Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome." Said a nurse, who walked into the room.

"It means I was only born with half of my heart." Malachi explained.

"That sounds pretty serious." Aphmau smiled, sitting down, "How old are you, Malachi?"

"I'm six."

"Six, that's a hard age." Aaron said.

"Yeah... especially when you have to spend it in the hospital." Malachi sighed, "What are your names?"

"Oh! I'm Aphmau, and this is my Fiance Aaron."

"Fiance? What's that mean?"

Aphmau giggled, "It means we're going to get married."

"Oh!" Malachi smiled, "Are you going to have kids?"

Aphmau touched her stomach, "Yeah, I am. I'm actually pregnant with a little girl."

Malachi's dull eyes suddenly became bright. "Really? C-c-can I feel your tummy?"

"Sure." Aphmau stood back up and walked over to his bed. Malachi hesitated for a moment but eventually reached out his hand, touching her stomach. He was extremely gentle and almost it felt as though there wasn't a touch at all. Malachi closed his eyes and then opened them up again looking up at her.

"Um... Aphmoo?"

Aphmau giggled, "Aphmau."

"Aphmau, I think it's going to be a boy."

"A boy?" Aaron said, "What makes you say that?"

"Just a feeling. I get feelings sometimes. Like, I had a feeling that somebody was going to come see me, so I cleaned up my room." He said, and Aphmau looked around making them smile brightly. He was right, he had cleaned up, they could tell by all the trash under his pillow.

"Yes you did. It looks nice." Aphmau smiled.

"So, Malachi.... Where are your mom and dad?" Aaron asked, hesitating to do so.

"They um..." Malachi played with his hands, "Last year my mom died in a car accident and my dad left me here. Because of my heart condition there is no Foster Home in the area who will take care of an already half-dead kid." He said sadly. "So I've been living in the hospital most of my life."

"I'm sorry, Malachi." Aaron said, putting his hand on his knee. "I can kind of understand that... See... my parents, neither of them were ever around. They would leave for weeks at a time... they would always come back so... I don't understand what it's like for you with them not coming back for you... but still... I can understand."

Malachi smiled, "It's okay, I don't feel bad about it anymore. This way at least I get to meet new people."

"That is good. I'm glad you're looking on the bright side, Malachi." Aphmau smiled, "You're a brave little boy."

Malachi smiled again. "Thank you, Aphmau, Ma'am."

"Well, we're going to go see our other friend now, but we'll come back tomorrow." Aaron said.

"You promise?"

"I promise."
