"It just really can't sink in that you're already married, Owell. I can clearly remember those times where we used to play 'bahay-bahayan' which I portray as the 'nanay' and you're the 'tatay' while my teddy bears are our 'anaks'. We use to bath together when we we're kids and we'll play at the bath tub. It really sounds funny and embarrassing at the same time while remembering the thought of it. *everyone laughs* But look at you now, you are really a better man, indeed." She laughed and then smiled sweetly. He smiled back too while remembering those days.
"I'm really thankful that you came into my life. That time when you healed my wound because nagsemplang ako sa bike ko. I really thought that the little boy looking at me that time will laugh at me, but he didn't. He even healed my wound. That's where it all started, and the rest is history." She looked up, trying to stop those tears from falling.
"I'm very thankful that you became my best friend, my best buddy. The one that I can always tell my problems, the one that I always tell what happened to me every day. I remember that day when I'm brokenhearted with my highschool crush, you came into our house although it's already 12 midnight. You came there just to hug me. And that's one of the best things about you."
"I can always count on you. Whenever I'm not on the mood, you'll just buy me my favorite chocolate then I'll be fine na. You really know how to cheer me up. Whenever I'm stressed out, mag-roroad trip lang tayo. We will just unwind."
"Whenever I'm with you, I'm always happy. I can easily forget all the problems that I'm experiencing. I always feel so comfortable and safe in your arms."
"Pero siguro ngayon, I have to distance myself from you na kasi maraming magbabago. I know my limitations. You should focus on your priorities first. And number one in that is your wife. I guess that I'm already not included in your priorities eh?"
"Thank you for being part of my life, Owell. Always remember that I'm always here for you whenever you need a friend. I love you bro! Congrats to the both of you. I'm really glad that the two of you ended up together!" She cheerfully said and then the other guests clapped.
Therese
As soon as I got back to my designated seat, there goes my teammates especially my batchies who are definitely disappointed on what I said earlier.
"Sobrang bitter mo lang pakinggan, Trey. Hay nako." Maddie said.
"Flyfly huwag ka nga. Hindi pa talaga yan nakakamove on! Psh." Bea added.
"Eh hindi pa naman pala! Bakit niya hinayaang magkatuluyan yung dalawa?" Maddie asked.
"Bakit nga ba, Marguerette?" Bea asked.
"Ayokong makasira ng relasyon, okay?"
"Ayaw makasira? Hindi mo ba alam na dahil sayo, nagkakilala yang dalawang yan?" Maddie said which totally made me shocked.
"O, gulat ka 'no? Oo, dahil sayo. Rex waited for you to come back, Trey. Every single day, he waits outside your house. He always text us to check your house whenever he can't go there, whenever he's too busy. But I swear Trey, twice lang siyang hindi nakapunta sa bahay niyo. He really waited for you, but siguro he got tired na rin lalo na nung nalaman niyang binenta niyo na yung bahay niyo. And that's when his wife came in the picture. Siya yung nakabili ng bahay niyo diba? So ayun, naging close sila." Bea said and then my tears started to fall.
What if I came back? Maybe I'm that girl who's sitting right next to him right now. Maybe I'm the one that he will live with. Maybe I'm the one that he will love for the rest of his life.
Kaya lang, I didn't come back. And that's my biggest regret in my whole life. That biggest regret that will haunt me all the time, even in my dreams.
"Pero, Trey eto lang ha. Hindi naman sa pinapaasa ka namin pero feeling namin, he still loves you. He really do. The way he looks at you. Lalo na nung sinabi ni Ysay sa kanya na uuwi ka. He said pa nga daw na kasal niya lang pala makakapagpauwi sayo. And he even joked na sana daw pala dati, sinabi niya sayong magpapakasal na siya kunwari para umuwi ka." Jho said.
Woah.
"We still believe na may chance na magkabalikan ang dinosaur couple, Trey. That perf couple who made us believe that we might not have forever, but we do have a lifetime. That high key couple who broke our hearts when they broke up. That super sayang couple which we still believe that will end up together."
Rex
"Bakit andito ka sa labas?" I asked.
"Nagpapahangin lang. Ikaw, why are you here? Dapat andun ka sa loob!" She said and pushed me away but I stopped her.
"Masama bang samahan ang best friend ko na magpahangin?" I asked with a smile.
"Oo." She said then she laughed.
"Huwag mo nga akong pagtripan!"
"Pikon ka lang eh."
"Parehas lang tayong pikon, alam mo yan!" I said and then we laughed.
"Hay, eto yung namiss ko eh. Lalo na yung mga ngiti at tawa mo."
"Owell, I have a question." She seriously said.
"Ano naman yun?" I curiously asked.
"Inantay mo talaga ako?'
"Oo. Kaya lang, hindi kana bumalik eh. So ayun, napagod ako. And I'm really sorry if I got tired."
"Hindi mo naman kasalanan, Owell. Ayaw lang talaga siguro ni tadhana sa atin. Maybe we're not really meant for each other." She said and smiled a fake one.
"Do you still remember our favorite movie?" She asked.
"Oo naman, yung Love Rosie! I won't forget that extraordinary love story."
"Alam mo ba, I even thought that yung love story natin magiging kagaya nung favorite movie natin. Kaya lang hindi eh. We won't end up together like them because I know that you're already happy with her. And as long as you're happy with her, masaya na rin ako. Kasi gusto kong makita kang masaya, kahit na hindi ako yung dahilan. Basta promise mo sa akin na kung mag-aaway man kayo, ayusin niyo kaagad. Hindi yung papaabutin niyo pa sa divorce. Baka ma-trex 2.0 yan, charot! Pero kung tayo talaga, edi tayo okay? Kaya lang, huwag na nating ipilit ang mga bagay na hindi pwede. Kahit masakit, tatanggapin ko." And then her tears started to fall, as well as mine.
"Huwag kang mag-alala, makakahanap rin ako ng magpapasaya sakin. Basta always remember that I love you okay? I really do." She added.
"I love you too. Marguerette." I said and kissed her on her forehead.
