Being hugged by Evan was probably one of the best things in the world. You could be going through hell and back and one hug could make you see heaven.

I wiped my eyes for the hundredth time today. My heart was still beating fast and I could hear Evan's beating fast as well.

He didn't say a word after I told him Beth knew, that she has evidence.

I wonder what he was thinking. I inhaled deeply and exhale just as deep. I know damn well that I'm going to have an anxiety attack if I don't calm down.

Even though his embrace was warm I could still feel the chills running down my body.

"I should have never left you alone." He says suddenly.

"It wasn't your fault. You didn't know." I breathe, "Hell, I didn't know. "

"Yet somehow she knew.." He whispers. "What's her problem anyway? What does she want from you?"

"I got her fired." I take in a shaky breath.

"What? How?"

"It was when Madison got into the bus accident," I begin. As I tell him I remember what Keith said about it not really being a coincidence but I push that away for now.

"And?"

"And I asked her to check if her name was there and she said no. So I asked her to check again in a nice way because I was freaking out about the thought of Madison dying because of our fight, but Beth refused to. So I kinda went psycho and started yelling and the boss asked her to check again and it happened she was wrong and they fired her for not doing her job well and ever since then she blames me for losing her job. It wasn't only once though, she had been slacking off before that and that was her last chance." I release the breath that I didn't realize I was holding.

He stays silent. I look up to him and I feel horrible. I don't want him to go through this. Especially now that Beth knows. 

Oh God, Beth knows..

"What do we do now?" I ask slowly in a low voice.

"I.." He begins, "I don't know.."

Even though he said that I could see from his face expression that he was holding back something.

"Doesn't seem like it. Evan, tell me. Whatever idea you have can be helpful at this point."

"We should run away."

"Run away?" I make a face.

We step away from each other just enough to make eye contact.

"Look, I know you don't believe in running away--"

"Believe? Evan this isn't a fairy tale."

"Would you just hear me out? I've been saving money. I have some money in the bank, in a credit card, debit card, and whatnot, and I'm pretty sure it'll be enough to get us both outta here."

"Okay, yeah but what about my Mother? She'll be found out. Beth will go to the police, rat us out, and both you and I will be tracked down and brought to prison. And I can't let that happen.  You don't deserve to be locked away for something you didn't do. The fact that you know, puts you in great danger." 

"You don't deserve to be locked away for something you didn't do either." He says. 

"My point is, we cannot run away. It won't end well."
