Kaneki x Reader One Shots

"Hey, Kaneki?" You tug at his sleeve, "The time has come, hasn't it...?"

He nods, "Yes... It's the day that we waited for over a month..."

Hide sighs and rests his hands on the back of his head, "It's been fun, right?" He smiles.

You both smile with him, "Indeed it has."

"To bad we didn't make it to Thanksgiving... I was looking forward to that chapter of our lives." Kaneki looks at the waves, all three of you sat at a bench by the beach and watched the bright sunny day.

"We can celebrate it early." You offered the idea and they looked at each other, "Who says we can't? My treat~"

"I can't decline free food." Hide rubs his stomach and chuckles, "C'mon Kaneki! Let's eat your girlfriend's cooking!"

Kaneki's face goes bright red and he scratches his cheek, "I still can't get use to that title...."

You laugh and hold his hand, "Let's go before the day ends!"

Once you guys reached your house you go in and start taking out the turkey. "You have one already!?" Hide's eyes glisten in awe.

"I was planning on using it on Thanksgiving..." Your smile slowly disappears and turns into a frown as you stare at the turkey. You shake your head, "Thankfully it isn't that frozen, so it won't take long to thaw and cook~"

You put the turkey to thaw and Hide looks through your cupboards, "Hey did you change the area for your stash?" he casually takes a bag of Cheetos that you hid in the very back. "You suck at hiding them."

"EH!? So you're the one who keeps stealing my snacks!" You pout, "Ugh... Since today is... different... I'll let it slide."

Kaneki walks up to you and rubs your back, "Want to watch SpongeBob?"

When he said those words your eyes widen and Hide chokes on a cheeto, "SPONGEBOB!" you and Hide cheer and run to the living room. You sit in the middle and turn on the T.V. Yeah, SpongeBob is for kids, but who cares? It's still very enjoyable. "Kanekiiii! Could you please put the timer for the turkey?" You plead.

"You ran off so that you wouldn't have to do it... Didn't you..." Seeing your smirk he knew that was a yes and sighs. Since Kaneki was already near the little timer it didn't take him long to set it and sit next to you. He holds your hand tightly, you look at him and smile.

Hide puts his legs on your lap and lays against the small pillows, "This is so confy~" He wiggles from side to side with a smile.

"Don't be, I'll have to get up once the timer goes off." You snatch the bag of Cheetos and take a few. Hide struggled to get up from his spot because you held down his legs, making him unable to move. Kaneki kindly refuses your offer and you suddenly remembered that he couldn't eat human food anymore. It was difficult to get use to considering how normal Kaneki acts and how kind he is, unlike the rest.

The timer went off half an hour later and you stood up to prepare the food. Kaneki and Hide refused to sit down and let you do everything by yourself so they went and helped on the side dishes. Kaneki would often glance at you as you enjoyed your time with them.

"Wow!" You steal a spoon full of food Kaneki was preparing, "Yum~"

Hide looks over and steals some too, "Yum!~" He agrees with you.

Kaneki sighs, "Please don't do that!" He tries to get you two away but fails as you take turns stealing some.

"Hey, hey~ Look!~" Hide points at the picture you stuck to the fridge with colorful letter magnets, "Isn't that the first time you and Kaneki spent time together?"
