Spike's POV
I didn't want for it to come to this. I hoped that Percy would just back down. But instead he challenged me. I wanted to howl in pure sadness. We were both too stubborn to submit. One of us were going to die. I knew it wasn't going to be me- I was too mighty and old, so old that the entire universe depended on me. Percy knew this. He knew that he would die in the fight. I fought back the tears that wanted to reveal themselves- I hadn't truly cried ever since... SHUT UP!!! I shook my head and began sharpening my claws. I'm so sorry.
Omega's POV
Dam it, dam it, dam it. I pushed away my fear and kept spinning my swords. I flicked my wrists in a pattern, and my emergency armor appeared on me. I would have to depend on my armor to completely protect me. If or when I die in this fight- just remember: I wanted death anyways. I have nothing to lose. I began spinning my swords faster and faster, so fast that they were a blur. I watched as Spike finished sharpening his claws and reared back with a howl. Lightning that was not Zeus's struck Spike, and he was wearing elegant but durable armor.
I'm so going to die. Spike and I charged each other at the same time. Spike raised his right paw and swiped at my chest. I barely avoided the blow that would destroy my armor by slamming my spinning swords into Spike's attacking paw, adding a strong dose of power. There was an awful sound similar to metal clashing horribly against something spinning. Spike let out a howl of pain, and his left paw managed to slam into me, adding to the force from the collision. I flew back, slamming into the wall. My vision began to blur.
No, I refuse to be defeated so easily. I gritted my teeth and shook my head, clearing my vision. I called on Storm for help, and he came quickly. But I don't dare shift. Even though it would give me a fighting chance, the Hunters were here- WAIT, WHEN DID THEY GET HERE?!?! Spike also seemed puzzled, and I took advantage. I began spinning my swords faster and slammed both into Spike's chest. I used enough force and power that he flew back, landing on his injured paw. Spike yelped in pain.
I was getting tired. I decided that although submission was a wise choice, I could not afford looking weak. I threw Revenge (my sword, not the demigod, but throwing him may have been more effective...) like a spear, and the sword landed in a chink in Spike's armor close to his neck. Spike let loose a roar of pain and swiped at me in a daze of pain. I slammed into the wall so hard a few of my bones broke and my armor dented. "STOP!!!" Artemis screamed.
I panted, and pulled myself out of the me-shaped hole in the wall. I took out a handful of throwing daggers and threw them well- they all landed in chinks in Spike's armor. While Spike was busy taking out the most painful ones, I thrust my hand into the air. Within a second I was floating in a hurricane, bones healed and energy regenerated. Spike looked at me wearily. I made half of my hurricane turn to sharp ice shards and directed them all at Spike.
Spike reared back and flapped his wings. My eyes widened. I was already burning up, so I couldn't risk redirecting the shards. My hurricane was gone, and I was leaning on Justice for support. I quickly took out my emergency shield- a mixture of leather and metal- and held it in front of my chest. The biggest, sharpest ice shard went right through the inch thick shield. Too late, Spike realized what he had done. It pierced my heart. I fell over, curling into a ball, shield and sword lay inches away, forgotten.
Spike's exhausted golden eyes met my fading sea green eyes. His eyes widened in horror. He ran towards me, tears in his eyes. I reached out and held his broken paw. I managed a weak smile. "We... had.... a.... good... fight.... didn't.... we...." I rasped, the world fading. "No, you can't go! I'm sorry!" Spike howled. I met his eyes, and knew that he would forever remember my last words. "What's... done... is... done.... but... it... wasn't..... your... fault...." I whispered, then closed my eyes for the last time.
Spike's POV
No... I... Killed... Percy.... I threw back my head and let loose a howl filled with so much pain and sadness and guilt that everyone there burst into tears. What have I done? Wasn't my fault? Of course it was my fault! If only I hadn't countered his order... Why? Why did I flap my damn wings? I should've known that Percy couldn't fend them off! Some adoptive father I am! I curled into a ball and began crying. Mt tears turned the arena into pure gold, but this gold was cursed. Anyone who looked at it or touched it would be filled with pure sadness and pain. Why? Tears ran down my face, free at last. I wailed out in grief.

HA! I FOOLED YOU!!! You didn't really think I would kill off Percy so easily, now did you? Anyways, I did this simply because I never really fooled or did a prank on April's Fools Day. Also, 'cause I felt like it. Spike's tears don't really do that. Spike never really cried though. Those tears of laughter? Pure droplets of melted snow. Spike never cried. He's that kind of guy that holds in the pain and lets something inside of him die and gets drunk when the anniversary of whatever made him sad comes by. So yeah. DON'T KILL ME!!! DON'T EVEN TRY. WolfHowler1 out!
