I yawned, stretching. It was a glorious day, since I slept in. It's not a glorious day! Storm pouted. It's awful! It would be glorious if you actually ate food instead of those repulsive pills! I frowned. Shut up! You're ruining my day! But you actually expanded your vocab. I rolled over, feeling tired. Tired of life, tired of the crap the remaining 7- especially Annabitch- was giving me. The depression was getting to me- Storm wasn't doing his job. I shook my head, and yawned again. Dude, give me a break! Storm yawned, and I had a feeling that his job was getting to him.
I turned over. I'll sleep, you sleep. Fair, right? I actually like those dreams, but I won't actually do it. I won't do what Dream Me does. I said persuasively. Storm hesitated. Yeah, it won't hurt- NO! FORGET ABOUT IT!!! But only for a moment... No!... Okay. Storm sounded like he was warring against himself before giving in to sleep. I smiled and closed my eyes, entering the dream I had been in before. I let it wash over me, pulling me in. And I let it, eager to get back in.
The Dream
Cracks appeared around the edge of the cliff, causing parts of it to crumble. The work of Hades. The wind yanked me closer to the crumbling edge of the cliff. The rain pounded me with the force of an avenging Spike, nearly causing me to fall to my knees and topple off the cliff face-first. The work of Zeus. The ocean below raged, slamming up against the cliff and the deadly sharp rocks below, as if it wished it were slamming ME against the stone. The work of my former father, Poseidon. I lean over the edge of the cliff, and I close my eyes.
The something slams into me, like something large was shoving me back. I stumble back, eyes snapping open. I stare into Spike's furious golden eyes and glare back. I walk forward a few steps, so that if I leaned over, I would fall and die. Spike rears back, hovering, and slams his paw against my chest. His shove is rougher, more serious. I'm forced back several steps and fall on my butt. I scowl up at the hovering wolf that is ruining my amazing dream. "Can't you see-" I began angrily before Spike whacked me in the face and barked "Just forget about it!"
My head snaps back and I find myself lying down on the rough surface of the cliff. Spike towered over me, landing on the cliff. A paw was on either side of my head. I glared at Spike, and knew I was trapped. I couldn't escape into death, and I couldn't escape him. "What do you want!?" I snapped. Spike's emotionless face softens, and the fight leaks out of him. "I want you to stay safe. I may not have been able to save the love of my life, but I can still save you." He whispers, and his paws grab me.
"Just forget about it..." Spike whispers into my ear, and the crashing waves, roaring storm, even the cr umbling cliff disappear. I struggle against my adoptive dad's strong paws, kicking, screaming, and biting. I am dropped into black nothingness. A dreamless sleep.
DREAM ENDS
I woke with a start and looked at the clock. 1:00 p.m. DAM! I yawned, frowning. I dragged myself into the shower and got dressed. I put on pitch black skinny jeans, and a black shirt that had the word 'BETRAYED' on it in white. How ironic. I tossed on my black cloak, but wore it loosely so that they could see my shirt. I armed myself with a bow, arrows made of silver, arrows made of Imperial Gold, arrows made of Celestial Bronze, and arrows made of steel. I put Riptide in my pocket, and clipped pocket knives made of Celestial Bronze and silver and steel. I brought Revenge (my sword, not the annoying demigod) and Justice. I also brought the dagger that stabbed me.
I dragged a metal comb through my hair. I stormed out of the Chaos Cabin like an avenging hurricane. Nearby campers that I once called friends glanced at my shirt and looked away, unable to meet my eyes. Jason met up with me, glanced at my shirt, glanced away. "Percy...." He began awkwardly, but I cut him off. "Just forget about it, Grace. There's a 99.9% possibility that I will NEVER forgive this camp- including you- and you have to accept that fact. Do what I did: Forget that we were ever friends. Know that we already have difficulty being allies, so don't push your luck. Tell the others what I told you, so I don't have to waste my breath." I said harshly.
Jason looked like he had been slapped. I turned around and stalked into the woods. Well, that was done. Hopefully, the others would take the hint and leave me alone. I took a deep breath and tried to not be pulled into a flashback. I shook my head grimly and leaned against a tree.
