Pretty Eyes Cry
Pretty eyes cry.
Even though they may try
To cover up and hide
Add makeup to increase the lie
They still cry
Pretty eyes cryInsecurities that can't compare
To you or anyone there
You try to push it aside
Telling yourself that its alright
Creating an image in your head of who you wish to be
Convinced yourself that you are a liabilityPretty eyes cry.
Even though they may try
To cover up and hide
Add makeup to increase the lie
They still cry
Pretty eyes cryWritings on the mirror
Stained to make the world clearer
Boosts of confidence fail in attempts
Fog of grace full of contempt
Words of vague allusion
Swallows pills of intolerant confusion
Who am I to be?
Opened eyes that still can't seeEveryone is so focused on how shiny the apple is
They forget to check the inside to see if its good
But if the apple is spoiled in one area
They throw it all away
Showing appearances mold the misunderstoodPretty eyes cry.
Even though they may try
To cover up and hide
Add makeup to increase the lie
They still cry
Pretty eyes cry
