Mason and I sat on the edge of the cliff in silence, our legs dangling below us. I leaned back on my hands and swung my legs back and forth. I sighed contently.

Suddenly, the events from a few days ago swarmed around in my head for what seemed like the millionth time since it had happened. I sat up uncomfortably. We needed to talk about this; I knew that. But trying to talk about it was just so hard.

I took a deep breath and spoke. "Mason...you never really told me the whole story."

Mason sat up and sighed. "Well, I guess you would have asked eventually." Mason took a deep breath and turned to look at me. "A few weeks ago, I went on a patrol with Alpha Drake, Beta Brian, and a few of our top warriors. We all go on a patrol every once in a while to make sure everything is going alright on the pack borders." Mason paused for a second before he continued, "Well, we were running through the forest when one of the warriors caught a scent. It was a werewolf scent. And a vampire scent. It was the hybrids. We followed the scent immediately. We didn't want them to do anything to anyone in the pack. Finally, we made it to the border."

As soon as Mason said that, images flashed in front of my eyes. I gasped as the images all converged and blurred before they finally cleared to reveal a group of werewolves facing a werewolf, a vampire, and a group of hybrids in a forest. I inched forward through the trees.

"Well, you finally showed up," Veronica smirked.

The werewolves growled. "What do you want?" Alpha Drake demanded in a booming voice.

Veronica smiled wickedly. "We want her, the savior. Hand her over. Now," she hissed. I went to stand by the group and growled at her. No one was going to take me away from my pack.

"And why would we do that?" Beta Brian asked.

Veronica laughed as Sebastian smiled. "Oh, no reason. Only that we will bring harm to your pack if you don't comply."

Alpha Drake scoffed. "Even without knowing me personally, you know as well as I that I would never let anything happen to my pack."

Veronica smirked. "What if you can't do anything about it?" Alpha Drake looked slightly confused and angered at her question. Veronica waved her hand in the air. "Smell anything?"

The werewolves visibly sniffed the air, and their eyes widened. "There's no scent," one of the warriors answered.

I sniffed the air. "What are you guys talking about? I smell them perfectly fine." But they all ignored me.

"Look behind you." A hiss sounded behind the werewolves, and they all whipped around to see a hybrid a little ways behind them in the territory. "We can easily slip in and out of your territory without you noticing us." Alpha Drake's head jerked back to stare at Veronica with blazing eyes. Veronica smirked. "Hand her over, or we will bring harm to your pack. Plus, we'll get her eventually anyway. Might as well just get it over with now."

Mason growled and almost leaped forward, but Alpha Drake put a firm hand on his son's shoulder. "You will never get Sammie," Mason growled through clenched teeth. I threw a small, grateful smile at Mason, but it was like he couldn't even see me.

Sebastian chuckled and took a step forward with his hands behind his back. "Unless we have figured out a way to follow the closest person to her's movement because she is always with him without anyone noticing." Mason paled while Sebastian smiled. Sebastian leaned forward. "That's right. We are tracking you, pup."

My eyes widened as I realized what was going on. I was having a vision. But unlike my first vision, this was happening while I was awake, and it was from the past instead of the present.
