"How do you know my name?" I asked as I stared in surprise at the man.
He was staring at me as if I was a ghost. He shook his head. "Of course, you wouldn't remember me." He stood up, pushing his chair back and coming around the desk. He was probably around six feet tall, give or take an inch or two. "My name is Drake, Alpha Drake of the Crystal Moon Pack," he introduced himself with a smile.
I just stared at him. I didn't know this guy. But wait...he was the Alpha? I was talking to the Alpha?!
"I knew your parents."
"What?!" My mouth automatically opened on its own. I had no control over it.
Alpha Drake chuckled. "Yes, I knew your parents. Your father was my Beta, after all." He chuckled again while my mouth dropped. My father? A Beta? How was that even possible? Wait...if my father was the Beta then...I had found my parents pack.
"This is my parents old pack," I whispered. Alpha Drake nodded. I looked up at him. "Why did they leave?"
Alpha Drake's eyes turned sad. "Come have a seat. This will probably take a minute." I took a seat in one of the leather chairs in front of his desk as he sat in his desk chair. He sighed. "Your parents were very close friends of mine. We all grew up together in this pack. Your father was the son of the previous Beta as I was the son of the previous Alpha. We both met your mother as kids and became great friends. When we were grown up, your father became my Beta as I took my position as Alpha. He took your mother as his mate, and the two had a beautiful baby girl. However, there was a prophecy that our elder told us of 'One who would save all our kind' on the night you were born. Later that night, we heard the first news of a werewolf attack and disappearance. It was the first attack and disappearance. We all assumed that you were the 'One who would save all our kind'. Your parents were scared though. Scared for you. They worried so much. They didn't want to believe it was you. They cared about you too much. So they left. Ran away in the middle of the night, and we never saw them again."
We sat there in silence for what seemed like hours but we're only mere minutes. Rosie whined to break the silence. I smiled as I looked down and pet her head. "Shhh. It's alright, girl."
Alpha Drake looked over his desk with a smile. "A husky?"
I nodded. "This is Rosie. She's my two year old husky. We found her in the woods as a pup."
Alpha Drake smiled. "Your mother was always very kind and caring. It seems you have gotten that from her." I smiled softly. "I'm glad you came looking for the pack. Are your parents coming as well?" He asked hopefully.
I frowned sadly and shook my head. He frowned as well at my answer. "Are they..."
My eyes went wide. "Oh, no! They are perfectly fine! They just...didn't come with me." I didn't really know what else to say. Slowly, realization hit me. "One who would save all our kind". It was me, yes, but what was there I could do? I didn't even know what I was supposed to save our kind from. "Alpha Drake, I must speak to you about this...prophecy." My voice cracked slightly while I spoke.
"Yes?" He raised an eyebrow at me.
I took a deep breath before I explained everything that I had told my parents, and I told him about my parents and their reactions.
When I finally finished, Alpha Drake nodded. "Your parents were afraid. You are the one, and they were starting to realize it. But they didn't want you to be. So they tried to hide it. But they couldn't."
I hung my head as I thought about my parents. I couldn't believe this, but what else could I believe? I had finally found out the truth...because they wouldn't tell me initially.
I brought up my head. "But what am I supposed to do? I don't even know what's really going on..."
Alpha Drake sighed. "I understand, but your time will come. And you will understand. For the time beating, you are welcome into the pack. We won't hold a ceremony for you to officially join the pack unless you are sure you want to join us. I know you have your parents to worry about."
I nodded. "Thank you."
Alpha Drake nodded. "Anything for Josh's daughter." He smiled at me and stood up. He turned to Brian. "Give her a spare bedroom, and I'll get Mason to show her around." Brian nodded and gestured for me to follow him. "Have a good time, Samantha, and tell me if you need anything."
I smiled. "Thank you, and call me Sammie, please." He smiled as we walked out the door.
We went up another flight of stairs to the third floor. "My bedroom is down the hall on left. This one is empty though." Brian showed me the first bedroom on the left. It was pretty plain inside, but there was a big bed, a 50" flat screen TV on the wall above a TV stand, and nightstands on either side of the bed. There was a walk-in closet and its own private bathroom.
"Mason will show you around; you can go downstairs to wait for him or you can wait here. I have some things to do, so I have to go." Brian left back out the door, and I called "thank you" after him.
I sighed and looked down at Rosie. "Well, I guess we're going to be staying here for a while." Rosie whined. I bent down and laid my forehead on hers. "I know, Rosie, but this is what I'm meant to do. Well, something like this. We'll figure it out. Mom and dad will be fine, and so will we." I backed up to smile at her as I balanced myself on my heels. "Plus, this is their old pack. And our new pack."

Hey, you guys! I'm finally home! I got back yesterday, but it was a brutal three hours home. My grandfather's truck broke down the day before so we had to take my grandmother's small rental car, making my two younger brothers and I be crowded in the back seat, and we had to leave stuff behind because it wouldn't fit. Then, it was hot and I was nauseous the whole car ride. Yeah, it wasn't the best. But I'm glad I'm home, and I had fun with my grandparents! Anyways, the picture is of Alpha Drake. So, have fun! Vote and comment! :)
