I sat with my back against the stone wall of my cell, my legs bunched up as I cradled my injured arm. Luckily, I had been able to get the blindfold from the guard to wrap up my arm. I was mostly glad that I hadn't changed into a hybrid, but I kind of wish I did since apparently, the bite would have been healed. In other words, my arm would not be in this painful and useless condition.
The clinking of metal against metal made me raise my head. A man, a hybrid, lifted the opening of a small little compartment beside the cell door and slid in a metal tray, but my guard stopped him. "No food for this one." The man nodded and continued to feed the other prisoners.
My stomach growled, and I clutched it with my good arm. I was so hungry. I guessed that it had probably been two days since I left the pack house and that long since I've eaten. And I didn't exactly eat a meal before I left. It was only a Nutrigrain bar.
I smiled as I remembered that morning with Mason. My last morning. I missed him. I missed my mom and my dad. I missed Abi. I missed Rosie. I missed my home.
"You better eat, kid, or you'll starve," one of the guards growled. I rose to my feet, still holding my arm, and walked to the wall. I looked through the bars to see a guard in front of the cell to my right. Inside the cell was a little girl. She was so young, probably only eight or nine, with long light brown hair and violet highlights. She wouldn't eat the food that she had been given. "Fine, suite yourself, kid." The guard began to walk down the hallway again to patrol.
I looked down at the little girl sadly. "You really should eat," I said in a sweet voice. The girl gasped in surprise and looked through the bars at me. "You'll need your strength."
"I don't want to eat," she said. She wiped her eyes like she was about to cry. "I just want my mommy," she whispered.
I sighed. "I understand. I want to go home, too, but you have to be strong to be able to get home."
She looked up at me with teary eyes. "Why did they take me?" She asked.
I looked down sadly at my injured arm. "These are bad people. And they want to do bad things to us."
"But I just want to go home." She sat down on the floor and cried. I wanted to reach out and stroke her hair and hug her to calm her down, but I was stuck in here, of course.
"Hey," I whispered. The little girl took a deep breath and looked up at me. "You'll get out of here. I promise."
She sniffled and wiped her eyes. "Really?" I nodded. She smiled. "Thank you."
I smiled back at her. Suddenly, a slight breeze blew through the air. The little girl hugged herself and rubbed her hands up and down her arms. Then I noticed a flash of black underneath her sleeve on her left arm.
"Hey, what's that on your arm?" I asked, pointing to her left shoulder.
The little girl looked to where I was pointing and lifted her sleeve to show me a mark. I gasped. "I was born with it," she explained. "It's for my pack."
My right hand went up over my mouth. "You're from the Crystal Moon Pack," I whispered. She nodded. "Is your name Violet?"
Her eyes widened as she nodded. Her eyes filled with fear and she backed away slowly. "How do you know my name?" Violet asked in a small voice.
I held up my good hand. "No, no, no, don't be afraid. It's okay. Look." I lifted up my left sleeve to show her my birthmark. "I'm from that pack. I saw your mother."
Her eyes widened again, but this time, she ran forward and put her little hand through the bars, the metal of the silver cuffs and the bars clinking together. I grabbed her hand, and I heard her cry. "Thank you, thank you, thank you!" She was full out sobbing as she held my hand.
Violet looked back up at me with a smile and tears of joy. "Can we go home?"
I smiled. "Of course, but not yet. And we have to be quiet, okay?" She nodded. "Now, go eat and get some sleep. Like I said, you'll need you're strength." Violet smiled and did I said. I sighed as I went back to sit against the wall, cradling my arm and listening to my grumbling stomach.

I sat in front of an enraged Veronica and an expressionless Sebastian. My legs and arms were covered in scratches and bruises, purple and red spots peppering them from being interrogated. "Okay, girlie, who are you?" Veronica hissed, placing her hands on the arms of the chair and hovering over me.
"I told you, my name is Samantha," I stated without emotion.
Veronica hissed in frustration. She slammed her hand on the arm of the chair and snarled in my face, "I swear, if you don't start talking, you're arm won't be the only thing that's broken." I kept my face neutral. I refused to show any emotion. No fear, no pain, no feeling. Nothing.
Veronica hissed again when I wouldn't speak. She turned towards one of the guards and snapped her fingers at him, pointing to me.
The hybrid shifted and started to approach me with a growl. For just a second, I flinched in fear. Veronica smiled at that. So far, she had only used small wounds on me, but now she was threatening me with something much bigger and much more painful. "How did you not change? Answer me or we'll see how you are with two broken arms and a broken leg."
I couldn't hold it back anymore. I became stronger when I realized what I was capable of, what I really was, but I was still just a sixteen year old girl that had lived happily with her family for so many years, oblivious to the outside world.
"I don't know exactly how I was able to do it. I only know a vague part of it," I explained, hanging my head in shame at not being able to hold it together longer.
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Veronica smile wickedly. "And what would that be?"
I hesitated for a minute, but it was too late. I couldn't stop now. I whispered, "I'm the savior."
"The savior?" I looked up as Sebastian took a step forward. "The savior..." He whispered to himself. "Where have I heard that before?" Finally realization hit his face. "You're the savior?" Sebastian laughed. "Oh, then we have nothing to worry about."
Veronica looked puzzled at Sebastian. He smiled at her. "There is a prophecy of a savior, one who would stop us. What is it, Samantha?"
"One with a heart as pure as snow
One with a soul that flies in the sky
One with hair, brown as dried leaves
One who will save all our kind," I recited the prophecy with my head hung.I took a deep breath and raised my head. Adrenaline flowed through my veins, and I sat up straighter. I smirked, my eyes glowing proudly. "I am the savior, and you can't change me. My blood is and always will be pure werewolf. I will never be a hybrid. I will never follow you. You can't control me. And in the end, I'll win." The words flowed out of my mouth so easily; it felt wonderful. And somehow, I knew every word was true.
Veronica scoffed at me, "Won't ever be one of us? Fine. But you will never win, sweetheart. And you'll suffer more than anyone in this world." She snapped her fingers, and the hybrid snarled as it launched itself at me. I screamed as the wave of pain hit, and Veronica and Sebastian retreated to the shadows of the room.
