I woke up with a smile for the first time in what felt like forever. I had seen Mason. And I could prove it, to make sure it wasn't a dream. My arm wasn't wrapped in the blindfold anymore, and my leg wasn't wrapped in the old t-shirt strip. Instead, it was wrapped in fresh t-shirt strips. But they were part of Mason's grey shirt. Even his smell was still on them, giving me comfort.
"Sammie?" I looked up to see Violet peering through the bars.
I smiled at her, my face beaming happily. "What's up, Violet?" I asked.
She tilted her head at me. "Are you...happy?" I nodded. "Why?"
"Because," I started as I tried to stand up. Unfortunately, the throbbing pain of my arm and leg were back. I fell back to the floor, but I tried again and managed to get up. I held onto the wall with my good arm as I hopped over to Violet. "We're going to get out of here," I whispered as quietly as I could manage.
Violet gasped, and I held a finger to my mouth to tell her to keep quiet. Violet covered her mouth with her hand and nodded. I edged as close to the bars as I could as I explained the plan Mason and I had come up with.

I sat with my back against the wall, my head hung and eyes closed. I took a deep breath, waiting and waiting. It would come any minute now, and I would need to be ready. Finally, I heard the thundering crashes from above. Suddenly, an alarm blared as red flashing lights filled the dungeon.
"Intruders!" A guard yelled. The guards footsteps echoed throughout the cells as they all ran for the stairs to the top floor.
I smiled and raised my head. I rummaged through my pocket and pulled out the lock pick Mason had given me. Turns out he always carries them, which is kind of weird.
I picked the lock on my ankles first, since it was easier. Next, I picked the lock on my wrists, which was much harder, but after several attempts, the silver cuffs fell away from my wrists, dropping to the concrete floor.
I pushed myself off the wall, and lumbered as fast as I could manage with my broken limbs to the cell door. With my good arm, I reached through the bars and picked the lock on the cell door.
Now, you may be thinking why hadn't anyone just done that before. Well, because there were always too many guards. There are always guards stationed in front of almost every cell door and several guards patrolling the hallways. There was no way you could pick a lock with that many guards around. But now, all of the guards were up top fighting trained Crystal Moon Pack warriors while I and all of the other prisoners escaped.
The door clicked and creaked open. "Yes," I whispered triumphantly, pulling open the door. I staggered over to a hook on the wall and grabbed the keys to the cells. I unlocked Violet's cell first, of course, and handed her one of the pairs of keys. "Go down that way and unlock every single cell and prisoner," I ordered her.
Violet nodded before she took off down the hall, unlocking every single door and silver cuff. I did the same in the other direction.
Luckily, it didn't take too long since there weren't that many cells. Prisoners only stay in a cell for a day or two before they are changed. So, there were always available cells. Violet and I were some of the only prisoners that had to stay in longer. Me because I couldn't be changed, and Violet because she was too young. They wanted to wait till she was older before they changed her.
Violet had to help me finish my side of the dungeon since I wasn't as fast as her with my injuries. All of the prisoners thanked us and ran for the stairs.
