I got out of the shower, my towel wrapped around me and went into my bedroom. Abi was bustling around my room, preparing everything for me. "Abi, will you calm down?"
Abi whipped around to look at me with wild eyes. "Calm down? Calm down?! Sammie, this is the day you officially join the pack, and you want me to calm down!"
"Sheesh, if you're this calm for this then I can't even imagine what you'll be like at my wedding," I murmured under my breath, but apparently, not quietly enough.
"Wedding? Did you just say wedding? Sammie, you didn't tell me you're getting married! Heck, you didn't even tell me you had a boyfriend! I swear if he-"
"Abi!" I cut her off. "I'm not getting married. I'm talking about in the far, far future."
Abi sighed, sadly? "Well, here's your dress, your necklace, and I'll do your hair and makeup." Abi handed me my long turquoise dress with a single sequined strap and my crystal moon necklace that resembled the Crystal Moon Pack. She pushed me into the closet and called through the door, "Hurry up! I need to finish getting you ready, and I don't have all day!"
I rolled my eyes as I slipped into the dress and put on the necklace. As soon as I opened the closet door, I was rushed to the bathroom. Abi first did my hair, braiding it across the top and curling the bottom. Next, she did my makeup, putting on so many things that I lost track of what she was putting on me.
Finally, Abi finished, placing her hands on her hips and looking over me with an accomplished smile. I smiled as I looked at myself in the mirror. I twirled around, my left hand holding the side of my dress. I, truthfully, didn't know I could look this beautiful in my life.
I turned and threw my arms around Abi. Abi hugged me back. "Thank you so, so much, Abi."
"Anytime, Sammie," she replied. Abi pulled away. "Now, come on. Your parents should be ready by now, and the ceremony will be starting soon."
I nodded. The two of us left my bedroom and walked down the stairs of the almost empty pack house. Everyone was preparing for the ceremony, so the house was pretty much empty which felt so weird compared to its usual bustling personality.
"Sammie!" I looked up to see my mom rushing over to me in a long dark green dress. She wrapped her arms around me, and I did the same. "You look so beautiful," she whispered.
"Thanks, mom," I whispered back.
"My little girl." I looked around my mother to see my dad standing patiently behind her with a smile. I pulled away and jumped into his arms. He chuckled as he hugged me. "You're growing up so fast."
"And now, you finally get to be back with your old pack, like it's supposed to be," I replied. My dad smiled at me.
My parents didn't have the marks of the Crystal Moon Pack anymore after they decided to leave the pack all those years ago. That night they left, their marks disappeared, but mine didn't. I had asked them why, and I found out that it was because I had not chosen to leave the pack. My parents took me from my pack, but I didn't choose to leave. Only they did. So, I got to keep my mark.
"We better get going," my mom said. "The ceremony is about to start."
I nodded, and the four of us went out into the backyard of the pack house. It was absolutely beautiful. The yard was decorated with flowers and ribbons, and crystal moons were printed and hung everywhere.
The pack, which had about a hundred people in it, was beginning to gather around the stage in the middle of the yard. "Come on," my mom whispered as she pulled me to the side with my dad. We stayed behind the stage while we waited for the ceremony to begin.
