"Sammie, there is another pack that has arrived," the voice said through the mind link.

"Thank you," I replied. "Send them in please."

"Yes, ma'am." The link disconnected, and I returned to helping get snacks in the kitchen with some of the other women. We put them on trays and carried them out into the fields where all of the packs were gathered.

We sat the trays on several tables set out before calling out, "Snacks!" The warriors started to swarm the tables of food, hungrily munching away.

I felt something run into my legs, and I looked behind me to see some children who had been playing clutching onto my legs. "Sammie, will you play with us?" A little girl with long black hair asked.

I crouched down and hugged them with a smile. "I'm sorry, but I'm busy right now."

"Awwww..." they whined with sad puppy dog eyes.

One of the women above me laughed. "Go on, Sammie. Go play with them. We can take care of the packs until they all arrive."

I smiled. "Thanks, Teresa." I jumped up and shifted before I started to chase the screaming children while barking and growling playfully.

A few ran beside me or jumped at me to try and knock me off my balance, but I swiftly dodged them. I laughed as they all crashed into me at once, sending us all tumbling over in a heap of fur.

I heard a familiar laugh nearby, causing me to look up from my spot on the ground with the pups laying on top of me. My tongue fell out of my mouth and my tail hit the ground in excitement as I saw Mason laughing while leaning against the trunk of a tree. He pushed off the tree and walked towards us. "You know you're so cute," he commented.

I smirked. "Oh, I know." He chuckled before he sat down and kissed me. Mainly the little girls thought we were cute while the boys stuck out their tongues and made gagging sounds, making us laugh at their reactions.

"Okay, so who is going to be eaten first because they won't get off of my girlfriend? Huh?" Mason growled playfully as he shifted.

The kids laughed and screamed as the two of us jumped up and chased after them again. We spent the rest of the morning playing with the pups and relieving all of the stress that had been building up lately with everything that was going on. It was great to just take a break and have some fun sometimes when everything is beating down on you so harshly.

The children were called inside by the women for lunch while Mason, and I laid on the ground and stared at the afternoon sky. I smiled as I let my mind drift slightly.

"What are you smiling about?" I looked over at Mason who was staring at me with those intent icy blue eyes.

"Everything."

Mason perched himself on his elbow. "What's everything?"

"Us. The pack. The children. How much we belong here, and how wonderful it really is," I answered.

Mason smiled and slowly leaned over to kiss me. I closed my eyes and rolled over closer to Mason. I wrapped my arms around his neck while he wrapped his arms around my waist, pulling me closer.

"Sammie?"

I pulled away from Mason to answer the mind link. "Yes?"

"All of the packs are here and are ready for you with Alpha Drake."

"Okay, thank you. I'm on my way." The mind link disconnected, and I looked back at Mason. "Time to go talk to the packs," I explained as we stood up and headed towards the fields, hand-in-hand.

We entered the fields where the thirty seven packs were gathered with their warriors, Betas, and Alphas. Alpha Drake was standing on the side with my dad and Beta Brian.

"Alpha," I greeted with a dip of my head.

Alpha Drake turned to me. "Sammie, are you ready?" He asked. I took a small breath and nodded. "Alright, let's go."

I looked over at Mason nervously. He gave me a reassuring smile, squeezed my hand, and kissed the top of my head before letting our hands slip out of each other's as I walked up the little hill after Alpha.

I closed my eyes and took deep breaths as I slowly ascended. I opened my eyes to look down at packs. They looked up at us intently. A gentle breeze blew through my hair, blowing away some of my fear with it.

Alpha began, "Welcome to the Crystal Moon Pack. I am Alpha Drake, and we are very grateful and pleased to have so many of our neighboring packs visiting us. Now, please give your attention to Samantha Felman, our past Beta's daughter and our savior."

The crowd applauded while I took one last breath and stepped forward. The noise died down, and I became serious. "Welcome, and thank you so much for gathering here. My name is Samantha Felman, but please call me Sammie. As some of you may know, we are in the midst of a terrible crisis. Many from our packs have been disappearing or kidnapped by a mysterious enemy. This enemy is extremely dangerous. They are...hybrids." A commotion quickly built up of disbelief and shock. "Please!" I called over the noise. "I know it is hard to believe, but some of you have seen the monsters for yourself! They are vampire/werewolf hybrids. Two outcast vampires began kidnapping werewolves from the packs and transforming them into hybrids that no longer remember their pasts and are completely controlled and loyal to the vampires. They are huge, violent creatures that are very strong and if you are bitten, you will be turned. But we can't let this happen anymore. If we don't do something about this, our packs will soon be wiped out until there aren't any werewolves left. Only hybrids. Do you want to see your packs suffer anymore? Do you want to lay down like good little dogs and let this enemy win?! Do we want to let our kind die because of some stupid beasts?!"

"No!" They screamed.

"Are we going to be weak and let them trample us?!"

"No!"

"Then are you with me?! Will you fight this common enemy?!"

"Yes!" They yelled, jumping up and down, howling, and pumping fists into the air.

"Then let's win this battle and save our packs!" I smiled and panted while all of the warriors yelled and prepared for battle.

I descended from the hill and jumped up into Mason's open arms. I laughed with him as he swung me around in his arms. "You did it, Sammie!" He finally set me down and looked down at me. "I knew you could." I smiled and raised up on my tippy toes to kiss him.

I pulled back and turned to our pack warriors around me. "Alright, we have a lot of work to do. Let's go." We will win this battle because there is no way I will let us lose.

Hey, you guys! I'm back! Again, it's been a while since I've written because I have been very busy and stressed lately. The stress kind of overwhelms me sometimes. But today, we have a 3 hour first period because of mock AP exams (that I have to take tomorrow 😩), and I've used 2 hours of it to write this chapter. The packs are getting pumped and ready for battle. Who will win? Who will live? And who will be lost? Well, love you guys! Have fun! Vote and comment! :)
