I need to know what they want from what they've taken from me, but I just don't know where to start.
"Alec." I called for his name as I ran through the stairs, and I earned a hum from him. "Hodge has the same rune as I do, the promise rune."
"We all get to have the same runes, you do realize that right?" He asked, he was all geared up and once he thinks the area is clean, he finally turns his head to me.
"But he has it on the exact same place, his right hand, on the wrist." He furrowed his brows together. He grabbed my hand and turned in over to the wrist. "Could it be meaning to something?"
"Not sure," He said.
"I don't wanna die," I said, then realized it sounds so dumb.
"You're not gonna die, Valerie." He said and chuckled at the end, then bringing his eyes to me. We kept on staring at each other before his phone rang. "We should get going, take whatever you need." He said and I nodded.
➰➰➰
"It smells disgusting," I scrunched up my nose.
"Perfect, right? We distract the vamps, Clary and Jace have time to find Simon." She said, feeling so proud of herself.
"Okay." Alec said simply before he walks.
"Okay? It was hard work interrogating Meliorn to get this intel." said the sister, making her way to Alec.
"Get em," I defended Izzy and she looked at me with a grin.
"Great job, Izzy." He said sarcastically. He stopped to look at Izzy. "You have faerie dust on your dress."
"And I hate being the distraction." The guy continued.
"Grump ass." I muttered.
We were all geared up, ready to face the vampires. I myself was a cautious type of person, any small sound or noise around me, I'd turn around to check. We then climbed up to a stairs.
"Looks pretty smooth so far," Izzy said before climbing up. "This must be the way," Izzy said and we all followed her. She opened a door and we heard some growling, it was vampires. Us three closed the door.
"Well, not that smooth." I said. We held onto the door. I realized that the door was the only thing that separates me from those nutheads vampires, dying for blood.
And just a week before all I had to worry about was picking food for dinner.
"Any day now," Izzy breathed out.
"Yeah, if you hold the door still," Alec took out his stele and tried to draw a rune.
"It's not taking it." Alec groaned. I went over and used my blade to slice up a pipe, I put the pipe in between the handle, this will at least help to block the vampires.
"Whoever said, 'The pen is mightier than the sword,' was an idiot." I said, swinging my swords.
"When you're right, you're right." Alec said. We gathered together watching for our backs. We waited for a few moments before deciding to start walking again.
"Wait, I heard something." Izzy interrupted and we all stopped walking. We turn our heads towards the door and saw claws with yellow nails destroying the door slowly.
"Fucking blood sucker." I cursed and Izzy chuckled. "How long do you think we have to distract them for?" I asked the siblings.
"About ten minutes," Izzy answered casually.
"Ten minutes? Are you kidding? We're liquid lunch in five." Alec said.
"So let's distract them." Izzy smirked.
"So let's distract them," Alec repeated.
The vampires were shrieking, and as soon as one of them grabbed the pipe, the door was opened, I saw their faces were plastered with hunger and anger.
They ran to the three of us who were all geared up and ready to face them. Izzy used her whip and caught one of the vampire's leg and stab it to death with a blade. Alec hit some vampires with his bow and arrow.
"This is fun," Alec said.
"Keep coming boys!" She looked at the vampires. And since then, Izzy became my spirit animal.
➰➰➰
As soon as we finished all of them, Izzy smooths her dress back and fixed her hair. I was panting while looking at all the dead vampires that I've killed. Well, they were dead anyways.
Then, suddenly my head felt a bit heavy.
"Valerie."
"Valerie."
"Happy birthday Valerie," A man said. "Here's my present for you," He gave me a box while holding onto my hand.
"Valerie."
"Valerie!" I snapped out of my thoughts when someone shouted my name. I looked up and saw Izzy. "What happened?"
"What is this daddy?" I heard the voices again, I looked around and no one was there.
"You'll found out soon, princess." I blinked a few times to get myself back to reality.
What the hell was that?
I looked at both Alec and Izzy who were as confused as I was. "You zoned out pretty good." Izzy said and my eyes looked at hers.
"We should get going, c'mon don't mind me." I said, before walking away.
