I was in my room, examining the promise rune on my wrist.

Hmm.. What kind of promise did I make? And to whom? I'm pretty sure Jocelyn.

I touched the rune and I flinched because the pain was still there. "Shit!" I cursed. I went over to my desk and took out an ointment from my bag.

I put it all over the rune and I groaned in pain because it only made it worst.

"What the hell are you doing?" Alec asked, who weirdly, was still in my room.

"What do you think I'm doing? I'll get infected and I'll die, so I'm trying to get it sterile, duh." I said as it was obvious. I mean, it was obvious.

"You're hurting yourself, you know that right, mundane?" He said with a chuckle at the end.

"For the last time, I am not a-" I stopped mid-sentence when I saw him standing in front of me. "Okay, creep. Give me some space." I said, looking at the current space that we had.

Alec rolled his eyes and took out his stele. He put it over the healing rune and I flinched a bit when the rune burns.

"We gotta move." He said.

➰➰➰

"This isn't creepy. Not at all." Simon had a smile, which means he was afraid.

"Don't tell me you're afraid."  Izzy said, standing next to Simon. I sense some chemistry between them.

"Are you kidding me? I was born afraid.. Which sounded a lot better in my head." Simon had his cheeks turned pink and Izzy seemed to adore him even more.

We all went to this dark almost forest-like kind of place. It was so dark, so cold, so windy, and I got a bit bored. Since Alec was on and on about how this would be against the Clave, and how we are breaking the rules, and Jace being the hero himself, and Clary being.. Well Clary, and Simon drooling over Izzy.

"Wait here a minute, I want to see if it's safe." Jace said and went further into the dark.

I crossed my hands, trying to ignore the fact that the clothes I was wearing didn't give much warmth. "I'm just gonna go to the van," I said, trying not to let them know that I was cold.

"I think it's best if you stay with us here." Alec insisted but I denied.

"I think I can do whatever I want," I said and I saw a glimpse of Izzy hiding her laugh. "I'll be in the van." I said before leaving them there.

I sat down in the van and then I grabbed Clary's sketchbook. I flipped through the pages on where she had drawn the runes. Once I got to the page, with the runes, I realized there were several of them. Actually, cross that, there was a lot in Clary's sketchbook.

After examining them one by one, one of them matches the one that I had on my right wrist. How can I not remember nor questioned myself that I've had this my whole life before? For 19 years?

I memorized the design, I did a few practice on Clary's sketchbook, hope you don't mind Clary.

Then, I heard someone made some noises, something like when someone stepped on some leaves. I jolted up, looked around and there was no one. I got outside of the van and looked around once more, I was holding onto my seraph blade.

The noise came behind me and I swung my blade as I turned, only to meet Izzy.

"Holy mother of balls!" She gasped.

"Izzy!" I said. "What happened?"

"It's Simon, where is he? Is he with you?"

"No?" I looked at her and worry replaced her face. "Izzy.. Where is Simon?" I said sternly.

"I told him to stay in the van. I've searched everywhere." Izzy said while worrying. I looked around and my eyes met Clary, Jace and Alec who were making their way here.

"Clary! How was it-"

"I'm Valentine's daughter." She cuts me off and I lose my smile. Alec then was rambling about how she might be a spy. Clary then looked at her feet, before noticing that we were missing a member. "Simon? Where's Simon?"

"We searched everywhere-"

"He's gone?" Clary asked, raising her voice slightly.

"I can't find him." Izzy looked down, feeling guilty.

"You were supposed to protect him!" Clary said once more before grunting. "Simon!" Clary walked away to God knows where because it looked like she was running around like an ant.

"Ugh, these mundanes are killing me." Jace complained.

"Simon?"

"Is that the mundane's name? I'm afraid Simon's coming with us." We saw Simon was being held by this pale looking woman and there was a man next to her, wow they needs to make the sun's hotline bling.

"No! No, he's not a part of this." Clary shouted, trying to get her best friend back, but Jace stopped her.

"And it'll be my pleasure to kill you unless you return him." Jace said with a deadly look towards the couple.

"No worries, I'll kill him myself," I was about to walk forward but I felt an arm across my stomach.

"Careful. We'd be violating the Accords." Alec warned.

"I'm afraid your sidekick's quite right. The Night Children have broken no laws. We're negotiating. The mundane, unharmed, in exchange for the Mortal Cup."

"And the clock is ticking."
