"Hey, we need to get Valerie and Clary back to the Institute and stay out of Downworlder business." Alec grabbed Jace's hand.

"Why don't you stay out of it? I'm going to help Clary and Valerie." Jace said, I still see that Jace was still upset at Alec.

"We have to report back to our mother."

"You and Isabelle can do that." Jace said and that's where he left Alec and went over to help Clary, Simon, and Luke. Alec sighed before landing his eyes on me, who was looking at him.

"Val let's go-"

"I'll be fine on my own." I said. He looked at me in disbelief.

"Et tu? Valerie?" He asked and I looked away. "I thought you were on my side-"

"I'm not on anybody's side alright? Luke is like a family to me, he means a lot to me and Clary." I cut him off and he furrowed his brows at me. "Just go." I said, looking away from his eyes. "I'll be fine on my own."

"Val-"

"You shouldn't keep your mother waiting." I cut him off once more before helping Luke to get to his car.

➰➰➰

"Magnus! Magnus we need your help!" I said and Magnus opened the door.

"What happened?" The warlock asked.

"He was attacked! He needs a warlock. He needs you." Clary said in worry.

"Put him here." Magnus put a white fabric on the couch before we lay him down there.

Luke kept on saying, where are you? And that creeped me out a bit. Luke was like a family to me, he was always been a father figure to Clary and I.

"I-is he gonna be alright-" I was cut by Luke growling, his eyes turned into a bright green color.

"He was bitten by an alpha." Magnus mumbled.

"Where do you think you're going?" I asked him who went to the back.

"Hold him down. We don't have a lot of time." He returned and grabbed a bark and placed it in between Luke's teeth. "It'll take a few moments to take effect."

"What's happening to him?" Clary asked, looking at poor Luke.

"Random werewolf transformation. It's a side effect of the poison in the alpha bite."

➰➰➰

I was sitting next to Clary who was looking after Luke.

"I don't have all the ingredients here." Magnus said in a rush.

"Just tell me what you need and how to get it." I said, standing up from my seat. Clary followed my actions.

"No, you two stay here. Luke will need you if he wakes up."

"When he wakes up."

"I'll go." Simon said.

"I'll go." Jace entered the room. "What do you need for the antidote?" He looked at Magnus.

"Hey, I got this." Simon stepped forward.

"Phoenix eyes, moon salt, and Idris fulgurite." Magnus said.

"One trip to the pharmacy, it'll take two seconds." Simon said and I sighed.

"I know a guy. And, uh I don't need him."

"Too bad. You're getting me. We'll be right back."

"I'm coming with you guys." I said, and they looked at me. "God only knows what would happen if we leave you two alone."

It was true, Simon and Jace couldn't shut the hell up. I had my arms crossed as I'm walking in the middle of them.

"I care about a bunch of people.
Just don't care about you." Jace said, walking a bit faster.

"Me, or what What's it called, your your parabatais?" Simon said and that took Jace by seconds.

"Whoa, watch your mouth.
You don't know a thing about me and Alec. We clear?" He said, looking directly at the mundane's eyes.

"Twenty bucks says he leaves you hanging tonight." Simon started to walk again.

"Not a chance." Jace laughed.

"My point is, Clary and I have always had each other's backs.
We had our entire lives.
That's more than I can say for you or Alec." Simon said and Jace turned around to face him.

"You do not get to talk about Alec, mundane." Jace raised his voice.

"Jace stop it!" I said sternly.

"I told you, don't call me mundane! Are we clear?" Simon pinned Jace the wall and my eyes widened at the power and strength that Simon's got.

"What are you gonna do now? You gonna cut me?" Jace grinned.

"Fucking stop!" I pulled Simon and he was laying on the ground.

"Do that again, and I'll kick your ass." Jace warned.

"Stop." I looked at Jace.

"I'm sorry. Dude, I'm sorry.
I don't know why I did that. I'm sorry." Simon said, he was scared now I can tell by his eyes. I furrowed my brows together and gave him my hand.

Simon walked before us and didn't look back.

"Since when did he-"

"Careful. He's not a mundane anymore." I said, not leaving my eyes off Simon's back.
