Both Alec and I entered the loft, everything was a mess. Reminds me of Jocelyn and my mom's situation.

"These floorboards.. They sound different in these two spots." I heard Simon said, he tapped his foot to the floorboards. "Can't you hear it? There's something under here." Clary went over to him and Simon opened the floorboards.

"Hey, out of the way." Alec interrupted. He reached his hand down the hole and grabbed a box, it was the same style of box just like Valentine's, except it has initials on it, JC. "Is this the box you remember?" Alec asked.

"Yeah. She used to wait till she thought I was asleep and then take it out." Clary said while admiring the antique box.

"Well, let's open it." Simon said. As Clary was about to open it, we heard a noise outside the perimeter.

"There's someone here." I said as I looked out to the window.

"Get what you need." Alec said as he walked towards the door. "Do not move until I get back ." He added.

"I'm coming with you," I said, judging by his looks he didn't want me to. "I want to help too, Alec." I said and he finally nodded his head in agreement. He went down the fire escape first, then when it comes to my turn, I accidentally missed a step.

I ended up falling, but I felt arms around me. "Look at you, I left you for just a sec and you're struggling." I looked up and saw Alec with a slight smirk.

"Cocky." I said and I got up. Then, we heard a noise in which attracted our attention. "Did you see that?.."

"A werewolf," He said. We both ran towards it, but try not to get caught. Alec reached over his shoulder and took his bow and arrow.

Both Alec and I were all geared up and were following the werewolf. "Are werewolves supposed to do missions or hunting alone?" I asked, focusing my eyes towards the animal. Alec stopped and looked at me, it seemed that he realized something.

I kept looking at him, trying to figure out what's going on. "Alec?" Then, it hits me. "Clary." I said and I ran towards the loft again, making the werewolf ran away.

I climbed up the fire escape and entered the loft, Clary and Simon were nowhere to be found. I looked out to the window and saw Luke's friends taking Clary and Simon into a car and drove away. "Clary!!" I shouted.

Shit. I broke Jocelyn's promise. Again. Shit, shit, shit.

I sat down on Dot's bed with my hands on my temples. What the hell am I supposed to do now?

Alec came back to the room while calling someone, and that someone was Jace who was upset. Very, upset. He hung up the phone call and stood against a wall.

"He's upset." I said and Alec clenched his jaw.

"Clearly," He said, looking away. He threw a big box to the wall and it cracked opened, I flinched when he threw it.

"Look, it's not your fault. Clary shouldn't have escaped the institute in the first place." I said, trying to cheer him up, but it wasn't working. I got up from the bed and stood in front of Alec who had his hands crossed. "Alec, listen." I said again, putting my hands on his cheeks, he won't look at me in the eye.

"Where is she? Where's Clary?" I heard someone said. It was Jace, and Izzy right behind him. As soon as Alec realized the others have came, he moved my hands from his cheeks bluntly.

"She's gone." Alec said simply.

"What do you mean, gone?" Jace took a step forward to Alec.

"She and Simon got arrested when I was securing the fire escape. I got distracted."

"The mundane was here?" I saw Jace getting angrier knowing that Clary was with Simon this whole time.

"Simon? He's gone, too?" Izzy asked.

"It was an unmarked car. I don't know where they took her."

"What did you do, Alec?" Jace asked, taking another step towards Alec.

"Hey, cut it out. It wasn't his fault," I said, putting a hand on Jace's shoulder, signaling not to come any closer towards Alec.
