"Then we're in." Raphael smirked.
Werewolves, vampires, and Shadowhunters as a team?

Been there, done that.

"This does not look like the City of Bones." Clary said.

"Everyone knows what to do?" Izzy announced.

"Text when you're in position." Jace said and we nodded our heads.

"Stay." Raphael stopped Luke from walking. "Good dog."

"Bite me." Luke hissed.

"Roll over."

"Play dead."

"Boom!" Simon said before giving a high five to Luke.

Then, the werewolves and the vampires were about to attack each other.

"Hey, enough! Enough! All our lives are at stake! It's time we put aside our differences, and work together!" I shouted and that grabbed their attention.

"Tonight we're all Downworlders." Clary added. "Luke?" She asked. Later then, Luke nodded his head.

"Raphael?" I asked as I turn my head to him, he nodded. We began to walk, Jace had given Clary her necklace and the tarot card.

"Be careful." Jace warned.

"Don't worry. I won't activate it now that I know how it works.
Thank you." She said.

The three of us went up to a high rocks, Jace drew a rune on Clary and I. I squinted my eyes and I saw Meliorn with Shadowhunters, and also with Alec.

"Alec? What's he doing here?" Clary asked. Jace looked at us weirdly because going over the rune with his stele.

"Damn it. Lydia must have sent him."

"Just say the word, and we'll call the whole thing off." Clary said.

"No, there's no turning back now.
So whatever happens, happens." I said and I earned a look by the two.

"Follow my lead." Jace said. We followed Jace's lead. We see Alec was taking Meliorn inside this building. He drew a rune on the wall, the wall crashes and there was a Silent Brothers.

"Alec." I said, and Alec turned his head without hesitation.

"Valerie?" He said in disbelief. His eyes went to Clary who decided to stand next to me, then to Jace who was standing behind him. "You told me you were taking Clary back to the Institute. You lied to me." Alec said, taking a few step towards Jace.

"I did what needed to be done." Jace sternly said.

"Alec, the Clave has gone too far.
You have to see that." I walked up to him. He looked at me in the eyes. "Please, just let Meliorn go."

"I have my orders." He said.

"You and your damn orders.
Who cares about orders?" I raised my voice, I felt tears forming but I forced them not to.

"See? That's how little you know about being a Shadowhunter.
You couldn't possibly understand-" He said.

"It's you that doesn't understand, Alec. Not this time." Jace interrupted. Alec raised his brow before walking through Clary and I, but Jace stopped him.

"I'm really sorry. Clary, Valerie, Meliorn, go, now!" He said after he pushed his parabatai.

Clary got her hands on Meliorn and we were running towards the exit. I turned my head to look at the two brothers, hell why lie? I was turning my head back to look at Alec. He seemed to notice because he turned his head back to me as well. I inhaled deeply before exiting.

We went outside and we met Izzy. Meliorn went up to Izzy and hugged her. Clary and I smiled at the reunion.

I heard some noises, and that was Alec and Jace.

I wasn't his first. I wasn't his last.
I was just somewhere in the middle.

"Val." I heard Clary called for my name. "I'm sorry for what I've said to you. I didn't mean any of it." She said and I sniffed.

"It's alright Clary, it's the truth anyway." I smiled, while raising my chin up. "I fall too hard and it tears us fall apart. I guess it's impossible to love someone too hard."

"Sometimes, two people have to fall apart to realize how much they need to fall back together." She said and I looked at her before pulling her into an embrace.

Then, the door opened revealing Jace. He was upset, I can tell by the look of his face. He was also hurt, at the same time. I was hoping so bad that Alec was right behind him.

But he didn't show up.

I sniffed. "How did it go?.." I managed to say. Jace looked at me before pulling me into a hug.

"We lost him." He said simply.
