"Alec, concentrate." Jace said. Jace and Alec were parabatai tracking. Alec seemed like he couldn't concentrate. "Alec!"

"I'm doing it!" Alec said. "She's not showing up." They broke the bond, Jace was still upset by the look of his face.

"Just like I thought. She wasn't arrested. It was your job to look after her." Jace looked at Alec in the eye.

"I did my best, Jace." Alec said, defending himself.

"Then maybe your mother was right, and your best is just isn't good enough."

"Jace!" Izzy shouted in anger.

"Jace! Listen to me. Do you think that you're the only one who's upset that Clary is being taken away? For God's sake I'm her fucking half sister and shit I am upset myself." I stood in front of Alec, making a wall between Jace and him.

"It wasn't Alec's fault! I went with him to check the perimeter and left Clary and Simon alone. And it was Clary's idea to snuck out of the institute, so could you please just shut the hell up if you're going to blame Alec for protecting Clary and doing the best that he could." Jace looked at me speechlessly, but anger was still seen in his eyes.

I was sitting down on the stairs with Izzy standing next to me. Alec and Jace were on a distant.

"Hey, we'll find her. Don't worry." She said soothly. She sat next to me and put her arms around me. After a few moment, we heard a phone ringing. "Clary left her phone on her bag." Izzy said. Jace took Clary's phone from her bag and put the call on speaker.

"Clary? Where-"

"It's me Simon!" Simon said through the phone. After a moment of Simon rambling, we finally got the information that we needed.

"Wait, hold on! Hold on. I'm at the Jade Wolf Chinese Restaurant on the pier at Greene St. And they have really inexpensive cocktails." Simon said and Jace sighed. "Just hurry, just hurry."

"You need to create a diversion.
Stall them." Jace said.

"How? All I have are clothes and a lighter."

"Start a fire, Simon." I said simply.

"That never works! Have you ever seen an action movie?"

"We're on our way." Jace ended the call. "Let's go." He said and we nodded our heads.

I noticed that Alec seemed down, so I grabbed his arm before he could start walking.

"It wasn't your fault, alright? And I'm pretty sure Jace didn't mean anything that he said." Alec's eyes softens as he let out a sigh. He nodded his head and I smiled, not for long his lips forms a smile as well.

"Val, Alec, let's go." Jace said and Alec jerked my hand away from his touch, and that made me raise my brow. Now, now, what was that for?

We have arrived to the pier, we looked around and there was nobody here.

"I'll go look for Simon." Izzy said.

"I'll come with you." I said and Izzy nodded her head. Jace and Alec went the other way to check the perimeter.

Izzy and I decided to check the windows, and not for long we found him. Izzy used her whip to break the window.

"I'm getting seriously tired of saving your life." Izzy said with a grin.

"I am not!" Simon said with a huge smile. We took Simon out of the room and us three went outside of Jade Wolf.

"Can you please stop missing?" I said before pulling him into a hug.

"But I kinda like they way I'm
being saved, so I might have to reconsider that." Simon said and I laughed. "Clary!"

"Simon! Oh, my God. Are you okay? I was so worried." Clary pulled him into a hug.

"I hate to break up this little reunion, but we got a bunch of werewolves trying to kill us so maybe we should get going." Jace interrupted the two.

"Wait, wait, the box. My backpack. I think I left it at the loft." Clary said.

"No, we've got it. I didn't screw up everything." Alec pointed out and Clary sighed in relief.

"Let's get out of here, then-

"Wait, Simon! Whatever you do, do not make any fast moves." Izzy warned. I looked around us and noticed that there were werewolves surrounding us.

"This can't be good." I said, not leaving my sight from the wolves.

"We're surrounded. Everyone, stay together." Alec said.

"Believe me, I'm not going anywhere." Simon said, with fear in his eyes.

"Everyone, get back, that's the alpha leader." Jace said loudly, making our eyes dart towards the alpha leader.

"Jace, behind!" Clary said. And over us, there was another werewolf, it was challenging the alpha. The alpha is now dead, the werewolf champ decided to turn itself into its human form, and it was Luke.

"Oh, my God, Luke.." Clary managed to say. "What? What is it? What's happening?"

"When a werewolf kills the alpha leader, he becomes the new alpha.
Your friend Luke's the leader of the pack now." Jace said, looking at Luke who was wounded.
