We then gathered around the pentagram that Clary had drawn. Honestly, it was beautiful.

"Jocelyn was right, your artistry is beyond compare." Magnus said, feeling very impressed by Clary's artwork.

"I don't know about that." Clary chuckled.

"Oh, the only other person I've known who could draw as well was Michelangelo, who was excellent in bed, I might add." He said while looking at Alec who was obviously had no idea what he was talking about. Izzy and I tried to hold back our laughter, but failing.

I saw Alec standing against the wall with his hands crossed. "I'm just gonna go and check the perimeter." He said before leaving the room.

"Okay. We're ready. Everyone take your rightful place on the pentagram." Everyone stood at the end of each pentagram point.

"Once this bond is sealed, it cannot be broken until the demon retreats. No matter what happens, we must not let go of each other's hands. I will lead the ceremony, and you all must do exactly as I say."

"The demon's name is Valak.
And at some point, he will ask for payment in exchange for Clary's memories."

"What do you mean? What kind of payment?"

"We will see. Let us begin."

"The necklace. It's pulsing." Izzy announced, looking at her necklace.

"Valak is among us. Do not break the bond." Magnus said as He tried to not break the bond.

"Hold on! - I'm trying." Clary shouted.

"It is time, the demon demands payment."

"What does it want?" Jace asked.

"We must each relinquish a p memory of the one we love the most."

Then there it goes, Izzy's was about Alec, Clary's was about her mom, mine was about.. Ethan.

"N-no.. It's not true! The demon deceived me!" I shouted.

"Do not break the bond!" Magnus shouted.

"Val!" Clary shouted.

"No!" I decided to let her hand go, and the bond is now broken. Everyone seemed to get weakened by then.

"I cannot contain the demon much longer!" Magnus said, and the whole ceremony failed. There were dark cloud above us, it was the demon Valak.

Everyone were thrown against the wall. I saw Valak was going to take Jace who had no idea about it, I decided to run up to him.

"No! Jace!" I shouted as I ran and pushed him aside. As I pushed him aside, I didn't feel the ground anymore. I then realized that I was grabbed by Valak.

"Valerie! No!" I heard Jace shouted.

"Don't just stand there, grab her!" Alec shouted as he tried to grab my hand.

"Hold on!" Izzy said along with Jace.

"The demon is growing stronger!" Magnus announced, geez Magnus that was very helpful.

"She's slipping! Clary! Help us!" Izzy said while struggling, I then screamed when the demon decided to touch my promise rune on my wrist. The pain was so intense that I started to hear so many voices, it was as if I was hearing people all around the world talking at once.

"Get the hell away from my daughter" I heard a man said.

"There's no way am I allowing her near you!" I heard a woman shouted.

"Oh, she will come back to me Angela. Just like how you came back to me."

I screamed louder as the pain became worst.

"Clary, if you kill the demon, your memories will be lost forever!" I heard Magnus warned Clary.

"Help us!" Izzy said once more. And not long, I collapsed and fell, I felt someone caught me, and that was none other than Alec himself.

"I got you," He muttered. I didn't have much energy to answer nor get up, so I just let it all go and rested my head against his arm, before collapsing completely causing my head to move.
