"I'm so glad we got away from that crowd and all those people. So intense." Alec exhaled and I smiled at him.

"And you certainly know how to make a statement." I said and he slight smirk.

"Oh God, get a room you two." Magnus whined. He was working up on where Camille might have hidden the book.

"I'm sorry Valerie. I fucked up so bad." He said. He wrapped his arms around me and I rested my temple against his chest.

"PDA, PDA, PDA, PDA." Magnus said and I chuckled.

"The thing is, that's all in the past. And I'm sorry too, I may have said things that I didn't mean." I said and he brushes my hair.

"You look great by the way, I went mad inside for a bit when you enter the ceremony." He said and I looked up to him and realize he was looking at me the whole time.

"It belonged to my mom." I said, and I lose my smile knowing the fact that she was still missing. Alec seemed to notice, he puts his hand on my cheek and draws little circles with his thumb.

"We'll find her, I promise." He said.

"What have you done, Alec? To us, this family?" Alec and I turned our heads to the source of the voice, it was Maryse with Robert behind her.

"This isn't about you," Alec stood up for himself.

"Of course it is. You are either being selfish or naive." He looked at Alec before darting her eyes at me in which I look away. "This wedding was your plan from the start. And now you have humiliated us in front of the most respected members of the Clave. I don't even recognize you anymore." She said, Alec was looking at her with a straight face. But, I knew what Maryse have said to him stings.

"He's your son," I said, and she looked at me. "He can do whatever he wants and you should support him no matter what. A real parent is someone who puts their child above their own selfish needs and wants." I said. I just called out momma Lightwood.

"I'm the same person I've always been. Now everything's just out in the open." Alec said as he grabbed my hand, and that grabs her attention.

"And all for a Morgenstern, she even talks like him." She looked at me before walking away.

"Just give her time," Robert said to Alec.

"And you?" Alec asked, expecting the same reaction just like his mom.

"Our families have never see things eye to eye, but.. I don't really understand this. Perhaps our world is changing" Robert said to me.

"How long has this been going on? Are you two in love?" He asked and I widened my eyes towards the title.

"W-what?.. N-no we're not-" I stammered.

"Love? What? No," Alec scoffed.

"It's all very new to them, I must say." Magnus said, standing next to me.

"Right. I better go check on Mom." Robert said before leaving the three of us alone.

"Your welcome love birds," Magnus mocked and I laughed. Magnus then left not for long.

I sighed before resting my head on Alec's shoulder.

"You okay?" He asked.

"I miss my mom I guess," I said. "She disappears into thin air, and Valentine ran to God knows where. I'm sure he knows where my mom is."

"We'll find her alright? I swear I'll-.. We, will help you find your mom." He said and I chuckle.

"You know what I just realized? You haven't asked me out yet." I grinned and he looks at me with a slight smirk.

"Yeah, you're right." He agreed. "You wanna I don't know, get a drink sometime?" He asked shyly and I laughed.

"Aw did Alec Gideon Lightwood just asked me out on a date?" I raised my brows and he rolled his eyes, looking away while trying to hide his smile. "I'd love that." I added.

"Alright, cool." He said, he was about to lean forward but stopped when we heard Jace and Clary shouting. "Can someone please stop interrupting? It's getting annoying." Alec groaned.

"I'll go check on them, you should find Lydia. And let her know that I thank her." I said and he nodded. He kissed my cheek before walking away.

I was walking towards Clary's room, and their argument grew louder. I went inside the room earning looks from the two.

"What's going on here? I can literally hear you two bickering from the training room." I said and Jace looked away.

"When we rescued Jocelyn and I let Valentine go, I was tempted to go with him. He's my father. Maybe that's where I belong." He said and I furrowed my brows together.

"Actually Jace, Valentine is my father too, so does Clary's." I said, walking up to him.

"We are the same." Clary said.

"No, we're not, Clary. No, we are not. Jocelyn raised you. I was raised by Valentine." He looked at me.

"I was raised by Valentine as well, he made me the person I am today. He made me start the fire that killed hundreds of Shadowhunters. But, I will never ever, think about following his footsteps." I said.

"Jace, look, I can't even begin to explain what happened in our past, but our mom can. We are so close to waking her up.You want answers as badly as I do, we have to go back to the Hotel DuMort and talk to Camille." Clary said and Jace sighed with a heavy heart.

"Fine. Where's Simon?"
