Heartbreaker 27: A gamble he's willing to take

"You're not scared of heights, aren't you?" I slowly shook my head as an answer. It was around 7 pm when we decided to order a pizza and mojo's on Shakeys. Pagkakuha ng order ay umupo kami sa may veranda ng mall ni Thaddeus.

Malamig na ang hangin dahil Enero na. The tiles where we sat were cold too. May mga grupo ng kabataan sa ibang parte ng veranda at may ilan-ilan namang tao sa ibang parte.

"That's good. I might regret bringing you here if you are. Paabot naman ako noong plate." Agad kong inabot ang disposable plate na binili namin kanina. Thaddeus were setting the food and drinks we have. Umupo na lang ako sa sahig at sumandal sa railings ng veranda.

The veranda is peaceful compared to the inside of the mall. From here, you can see the whole city and the lights from the bumpers of vehicles on the busy streets. The lights from the houses and establishments around the place also added to the view.

"It's nice but ironic. Kung paano nagbibigay ganda sa lugar ang mga bagay na sumisira sa kapaligiran." Kumuha ako ng mojos at sinubo ito. Kumuha naman si Thaddeus ng slice ng pizza na pinahati namin into square cuts.

"This is your green side?"

I wouldn't be the Environment Ambassador of the University kung wala akong interes sa nature. Human can develop without destroying their habitat. There is a cost for the developments we have attained right now. Lumalala lamang ang pagkasira ng kapaligiran dahil sa walang kakuntentuhan ng mga tao. It's the greed which kills our nature.

"Join the Basketball Team." Inubos ko ang mojo ko at kumuha ng pizza bago tumingin kay Thaddeus na kanina pa nakatingin sa akin. His eyes look tired yet focused on our conversation. I can't blame him.

The Volleyball Team trains from 5 o'clock in the morning until 8 o'clock. Ibig sabihin ay maaga itong nagigising and considering our daily classes, it's exhausting.

"It's too late for that. 2nd year na ako tsaka may mga nasalihan na akong clubs."

Basketball is my hobby. Pero mananatili na lamang iyon na hobby. Studying and school activities are different. Mahirap mahati ang atensyon lalo na't bawat organizations ay nagrerequire ng commitment. Kasama sa commitment na iyon ang participation at oras.

"What are your commitments on the University?" Thaddeus stared at my eyes so I looked into the skies instead. Kaunti lamang ang mga bituwin ngayong gabi. Looks like mali ako sa pag-asang maraming bituwin ngayong gabi.

"Alam mong head ako ng CL, kasama ako sa Spyridon. Kasama rin ako sa Litterati. Plus ako ang pumapalit kay Daddy sa pamamahala ng school kapag wala ito. Malaking responsibilidad ang BLU."

Nanatili na lang akong nakatingin sa kalangitan. I don't want to ruin the atmosphere we have. Masyado akong nakakaramdam ng awkwardness kay Thaddeus. I notice him form into an indian sit from my peripheral view. He looked frustrated as he combed his hair using his fingers.

Sexy.

I mentally slapped myself for saying that. Ano bang pinag iisip ko?

"Kasama ka sa Spyridon? Madalas mag-perform ang Spys pero bakit hindi kita nakikita?"

Hindi ko alam kung gusto niya ba talagang malaman ang mga bagay na ito o gumagawa lamang siya ng mapag uusapan. Either way, mas maganda na ang ganito kaysa sa wala kaming mapagusapan.

"Kasama ako sa Spyridon but inactive since second year. Spyridon requires a lot of time. Lately lang naging maluwag ang schedule ko." Thinking about the Spyridon, I miss playing violin.
