Chapter 16 - Wrong Turn

Jade's POV:

So we are now back in the RV and I am sat up front with Ashton, who after today is basically my saviour.

" Thanks for being there for me today Ash... it means a lot" I say politely, emphasising how much it meant to me.

Ashton shakes his head and smiles,
" It's no problem Jade".

*Buzz* *Buzz* *Buzz*

Bloody hell. Someone's getting a lot of phone notifications.

" Aren't you going to check who they're from?" I ask, mainly wanting him to check to stop the insane buzzing.

Ashton picks up his phone and rolls his eyes,
" Ugh"

I don't even want to know who that's from, but judging by his reaction...someone he probably doesn't like.

" Why are people so annoying. Why can't they just leave me alone" Snarls Ashton at his phone, slamming it down on the side.

" It'll all be alright Ash some people are just-"

My phone vibrates suddenly on my lap. I try to continue my sentance, but a bit like Ashton's, my phone is losing the plot.

I unlock my phone to see twitter notifications all over the notification bar.

Clicking the notifications I am shocked to see tweets being fired right at me.

" @LittleMix what's going on between Jade and Ashton?"

" @LittleMix IS JASHTON REAL??"

" @LittleMix Jade back the f*ck up okay, leave Ash alone"

What the actual heck.

" Ashton....have you checked Twitter lately...?" I say hesitantly, scrolling through more and more tweets, some abusive, some positive.

Ashton looks at me,
" Yes I have. And so has my girlfriend"

Girlfriend. What. Why did he not tell me any of this?!

" Whatever. Just forget it" Says Ashton adding on to his sentance, not giving me enough time to respond.

I type my name in on google, and instantly, the first thing that comes up says:

" Little Mix beauty Jade and 5SOS hunk Ashton Irwin dating?"

I click the link and I get redirected to a celebrity gossip website.

" Photos of Jade Thirlwall and Ashton Irwin have been shared online today, after the pair had been spotted at Disney World in Florida. The photos leaked online show the pair holding hands, and holding eachother arm in arm, on the Disney coaster, Big Thunder Mountain"

Oh great. This won't make me look like a homewrecker at all.

" Jade ignore whatever's going on online. We both know it meant nothing" Says Ash sternly, now speaking in a completely different tone.

I feel my heart break a bit at the sound of Ashton saying this. I'm not going to lie, but over the past few days, I think I've genuinely been developing feelings for him.

Obviously now those chances are destroyed, as he has a girlfriend, and has blatantly said to my face "it meant nothing".

" Yeah. Don't worry. I will do" I say trying to not hint the disappointment, standing up to go and join the others.

" Come on Jadey we'll budge up for ya!" Says Jesy enthusiastically, shuffling over so I can take a seat beside her.

Luke's POV:

" Ashton how far away are we, it's been like an hour already" I shout, now suffering from an extreme case of boredom.

I feel guilty. Mainly because I'm in an RV with a cool group of people, but yet I still feel bored.

" I don't know Luke. I think I might have taken a wrong turn, because I don't know where the hell we are" Replies Ash.

Great. Just great. So after Ashton declares his plan to take another route, he gets lost trying.

" Well, go online and find directions back" Says Cal, hearing that we are slightly lost.

Leigh pulls out her phone from her bag and starts tapping it.
" No service" .

I unlock my phone and scroll to check how many bars I have. Surprisingly, Leigh is right. Zero bars.

So to make a long story short. Ashton drives us to the middle of nowhere, and we are an hour out of civilisation.

" There's a dirt track in front of us. I could drive up there and look around" Says Ash as if he is asking a question.

That could either be a good idea, or a completely bad idea. Probably the second option is most likely.

" Just get us out of here Ash" I say getting up and joining him, beside him in the passenger seat.

It's now pitch black. The only light surrounding the area, is that of the RV.

I feel the RV shudder as it's large wheels make contact with the rocky terrain of the dirt track.

" Ash, I don't feel comfortable about going any further" Shouts Perrie from the table where the rest of our companions are seated.

" Just a little more Perrie, we could get a signal" Says Ash.

Just as he says this, there is a sudden jolt beneath the RV, and Ashton clutches harder to the wheel.

" Ashton what the hell are you doing?!" Shouts Michael, clearly also getting frustrated.

" Nothing! I got this!" Snaps Ashton, now pushing onto the pedal trying to get off the track.

The wheels start to screech under the RV, and I can't help but feel that the RV is slipping.

The wheels suddenly lose grip of the road and from the look of fear on Ashton's face, I can tell that my worries are confirmed.

" Put your belts on and brace yourself" I shout to the others at the top of my lungs as we begin to slip further.

I watch in horror as the RV lights illuminate a steep hill beside us. A hill which we are about to collapse down.

" Ashton try and do something!" Cries Jade from the table, currently being shielded by Jesy and Perrie.

Ashton looks back at Jade frantically and another jolt shakes the RV violently.

We hear a sudden "pop" and the RV falls a little at the back. One of the tyres have just been punctured.

I feel the RV begin to shudder and before I know it we are sliding down the hill, letting fate decide on whether we live or die.

Bet you weren't expecting that were you? To be honest neither was I. I just had a really creative, overactive mind writing this chapter.

Plus I felt it needed a bit of intensity.
