Chapter 25 - Cheater

Jesy's POV:

Since witnessing Jade and Ashton kiss last night, I couldn't sleep. I could barely shut my eyes.

I promised myself I'd give Ashton a piece of my mind, but everywhere he turns, Jade follows.

I walk into the kitchen quietly and Michael is preparing breakfast....which is literally a few pieces of bread as we are genuinely rationing now.

On the table sits Luke, Jade, Ashton and Leigh. I don't really know where Pez is, and Calum's in the shower.

From the side of the room Ashton notices my glance, so I motion him to come towards me discretely as Jade chats with Leigh.

Ashton follows me and I silently open my bedroom door, inviting him inside behind me.

I shut the door quietly.

" What's up?" Asks Ashton casually, not preparing for the hell I'm about to put him through.

" What's up? I know what you've done. You're cheating on your girlfriend and using Jade as some sort of girl on the side!" I snap quietly, to stop anyone else hearing.

Ashton rolls his eyes and goes to open the door, but I stop him from doing so.

" No Ashton. I need you to stop playing my friend around and leave her alone" I say sternly.

Ashton faces me,
" You don't know anything Jesy. So just back off"

And with that, he barges past me, yanking the door open and sits back down at the table.

Ashton sits beside Jade,
" If anyone else has anything to say about me and Jade, say it to my face"

Leigh nearly spits out her drink and Luke raises his head in shock.

" Hold up? You and Jade are an item?!" Asks a very confused Michael, placing a plate of bread on the table.

Jade shoots a look at Ashton and Ashton nods, earning a slight smile from Jade, and a set of daggers from me.

" Ash....you have a girlfriend!?" Says Luke forcefully, as if he's persuading Ashton to agree.

Ashton laughs,
" Give me a break Luke. It's fake. It's a hoax. It's for media attention. Give up the act. I don't want to live this way anymore"

So wait...all this time we've been feeling sorry for Jade, whilst in reality we've been fed a hoard of lies, that the guys were in on?

" So you've all been lying to us?" Asks Leigh, not sounding best impressed.

Ashton shakes his head,
" I had to. Our management threatened to drop us. So you can't say ANYTHING"

" Fine" I say, giving into Ashton's persuasion.

A look of relief sweeps over Ashton's face, and we call Pez and Cal in for breakfast.

At the table we just have regular conversation, but mostly about the fact we literally have under a days worth of food left.

Leigh told me about Luke's bizzare bird theory...but I don't think anybody wants to result to that to be honest.

Then we do have Luke's bag of Disney sweets left apparently, but I doubt that'll do anyone any good.

Luke's POV:

Jade leaves the table and walks into the bedroom which was last night occupied by Leigh and Perrie.

I quickly finish my bread and attempt to follow her, craving answers, and why she is suddenly hooking up with my best friend.

Before she can shut the door, I slide into the room and shut it behind me.

" What's the deal?" I ask in frustration, Jade clearly sick of my face.

" The deal is Luke, I'm with Ashton now" Replies Jade pulling a hairbrush from the floor.

With Ashton? Give me a break. It's been 12 hours.

" Oh what? So you're just going to ignore what happened between us last week?" I snap, feeling hurt at the fact she doesn't care.

Jade glares at me,
" You made a pass on me. I told you, I didn't want to date you. From day one"

" Still you kissed me back and you know you did" I shoot back, desperate for her to understand.

Jade puts her hairbrush down and stands directly in front of me.

" Luke...I do like you, but only as a friend. I can't force myself into something not real" She sighs.

" Believe it or not I felt the kiss was pretty real Jade" I say glumly.

Jade rolls her eyes once more,
" Give it up Luke!! It meant nothing. I love Ashton okay?!"

I trudge towards the door and turn around in anger.
" Whatever. If that's how you feel I might as well move on"

Jade launches towards me and pulls me back away from the door.

" What do you mean move on? Luke, I swear to god, if you lay a finger on any of my friends I'll -"

I cut her off,
" Believe it or not, your friends are my friends now..."

" Just p*ss off Luke" Shouts Jade, pushing me out the door.

I find this slightly ironic as I tried to leave and she stopped me from doing so.

Okay maybe I was being a bit of a jerk by my last comment, I wouldn't make a pass on any of the others in revenge.

" What the heck was that about?!" Asks Ashton in concern, clearly hearing our rant.

" Nothing, nothing. I tried to tell a joke but she took it offensively" I lie, sitting down to join them.

What? I can't say I lectured her on her new found love with Ashton, and practically begged her to give me a shot. That would mean telling them about the kiss, which wouldn't be good for anybody.

" She can be sensitive sometimes Luke, so if you're going to make a joke be careful okay?" Says Perrie, feeling bad for the fact I upset Jade.

I nod, acknowledging Perrie's comment but not really caring as the only person on my mind at the moment is Jade, and the fact she's moved on so quickly.

However, maybe I should just listen. I did make a pass on her. In the end, Jade is right. This is my mess.
