Chapter 30 - Water

Perrie's POV:

I wake up the next morning leaning against a pile of sandy rock. Luke is curled up on the floor, his hair scattered with dirt from where he's been lying.

My tongue feels so dry, and I part my lips to unstick them as they are chapped from the heat.

Me and Luke eventually collapsed into sleep yesterday evening after walking a grueling 30 hours or so. We still haven't passed anywhere busy, but we made out a few signs in the distance.

" Luke" I croak, before I clear my throat, hearing how weird I sound from the lack of water.

Luke opens his eyes and blinks a few times, before groaning at the bright sun which pierces his eyes.

" Morning" Mumbles Luke sitting up slowly and ruffling the dirt from his thick head of hair.

" I know you probably don't want to hear this, but we better get walking again" I say, tugging on the sleeve of his shirt.

Luke stands up, and I follow his exact moves, standing behind him.

We walk for a while and end up on a long road, it is practically empty and we can't make out any forms of civilisation.

" Well at least we are on a road. We could still be in that forest place" I say feeling fairly pleasant at the fact we're on a road made for humans.

" Yep Pez, but unfortunately our friends are still stuck in 'that forest place', so don't get too excited yet" Smirks Luke elbowing me gently and walking a little faster.

" So then Luke.... what's been your favourite part of the trip so far" I say trying to make conversation.

Luke looks at me with an expression that looks as if he's saying "are you being serious".

I don't blame him, as it's been a pretty shocking trip in all honesty and it hasn't been much fun at all.

" Well....the crash and the fact we were stranded put aside....probably the day at Disney World" Grins Luke, reminiscing on the fun we all had before the accident.

I agree with him. That day was wonderful. Doing nothing and just going on rollercoasters and laughing like a bunch of idiots.

Suddenly Luke stops paying attention and he obviously notices something in the distance as his eyes widen.

" LOOK!!" He shouts in complete happiness.

Luke suddenly starts running to what looks like a pile of bricks, but to my shock I notice it's a tap.

I speed up and follow Luke also now running, knowing there's a chance we can have a drink.

We perch beside the tap, and Luke twists it to ensure it's working, also checking how clean it is.

" Crystal clear. Go for it babe" Says Luke insisting I drink from the tap first.

I don't hesitate to listen to Luke and I kneel down underneath the tap and I drink the water that flows rapidly into my mouth.

The relief from the hydration is wonderful, and the extent of how grateful I feel is unexplainable.

After a few minutes of drinking the water I finally shuffle over for Luke to have some.

Luke rapidly drinks from the tap and spends the same amount of time drinking from it than I did.

This is the best we've felt in days. And the tap is also an indication that civilisation is near.

Michael's POV:

We're now all feeling terrible. Everyone is feeling incredibly tired and weak due to the fact we've not eaten a proper meal in days.

The water tank is now basically empty, so the guys and I have agreed to drink the river water to let the girls have the rest of the nice water.

They insist that we can all share it, but we refuse.

" Guys for gods sake, we're not going to let you drink that shit" Says Jesy agitatedly, pointing at the colour of the water.

" Listen, Jesy. We don't want you girls getting sick, you're way too friendly for us to do that to you okay?" Says Calum, heading towards the door.

" Calum!! Don't you dare go towards that river" Shouts Jesy, pulling him back by his shirt, calling for back up.

Calum struggles as Jesy, Leigh and Jade drag him away from the door and back into the room, standing infront of the exit.

" This is ridiculous" I say at the three persistent band members blocking off the door.

Jade shakes her head,
" No Michael, what is ridiculous is the fact you psychos want to drink from THAT"

Jade points back at the river and gains no reaction from me Calum or Ashton whatsoever.

" Well if we don't we're gonna dehydrate" Says Ashton simply, pointing out the obvious fact of the matter.

" Well we can dehydrate together Ashton" Says Jade strictly.

Ashton rolls his eyes and reluctantly nods his head, eventually giving in to the commands of Jade, Leigh and Jesy.

However the odds of any of us sticking to the plan are very low. I mean, we'll find a way around it.

" I wonder how Perrie and Luke are doing" I say quietly, unsure of whether it was a good idea to bring up the topic or not.

" Hopefully they're okay....Luke and Perrie are strong. They've got this" Smiles Leigh confidently, but still a look of concern in her eyes.

I think everybody is feeling this way about the fact Luke and Perrie have gone. We all assume they are so strong, when in reality, they're in the middle of nowhere in the blazing heat without water or food.

It scares me to say it but, I think given the circumstances it could go either way for Luke and Perrie.

" Yeah...they know what they're doing" I lie, knowing the huge chance that they could be in great danger.

" And Perrie won't break a promise....we all heard what she said before they left. It'll be okay. We'll see them soon" Says Calum leaving the room and heading off to the bedroom.

Oh my goodness. I am so sorry about the lack of updates guys!

It was mainly due to the fact I had no storage space on my phone and the app was "mid update" so I couldn't install it.

Then when it did install a few days after the chapters took about 10 years to load and wouldn't open!! 😭😭

Anyways. Here's the update. Once again I'm so sorry guys.

However there's more bad news...I start college this upcoming week, so my updates will probably be less frequent as I'll have to focus on my work.

But of course I will still upload updates for you lovely lot.

Anyways friends, hope you enjoyed the update (im sorry if it sucks a little) and I'll post again soon.
