Chapter 18 - Keep Smiling

Perrie's POV:

When I wake up, the sun is shining through the bedroom window. For a second it feels as if life is normal, then I look to the right and see I'm sleeping with Jade and Luke Hemmings.

I don't know what time I fell asleep at eventually, but I was up until atleast 4am. Mainly through the shock of the accident, but also because Ashton was on my mind all night.

I roll over to see Jade wrapped in Luke's arms. I feel tempted to wake her because I know she'd be completely confused waking up, but I can't help thinking at how cute they both look.

I decide to leave them be for a while, besides, they need the sleep, and after last night, I would be surprised if they got any.

I pull my phone out to see it's actually 2pm....that probably makes sense to be honest. It was dark before the accident, and nobody knows how long we were out for.

Jade murmurs a little and snuggles into Luke a bit more before she opens her eyes.

" Holy crap!" She Shouts suddenly falling back onto me.

" What!?" Says Luke waking up looking completely shocked.

I facepalm myself.
" Jade calm down it's fine...you didn't sleep with Luke...I was here all night"

Luke looks over at me and raises an eyebrow,
" Well technically -"

" Hey, listen mate, this isn't the time for witty jokes okay?" I say completely cutting him off.

Luke rolls his eyes and pulls the duvet back, before standing up out of bed and picking up a shirt from the floor.

I can't help but notice that he looks pretty good topless, but then I cringe instantly at my thought and look back over at Jade.

" To be honest, you looked pretty comfortable before" I say with a kind smile.

Jade smiles a little and shakes her head,
" You know I don't think of Luke like that"

Well. She can say that all she likes, but she wasn't exactly complaining before when she was using him as if he was a giant teddy bear.

" I'm going to go and check up on Ash...I'll be back later" Says Luke, before walking out of the room.

Jade slumps back on to the pillow and takes a long and hard sigh.
" What a mess"

I nod and lie beside her, she's right. This was meant to be a relaxing break for the 8 of us, and instead it ends up like this.

" I hope Ash gets better soon. It broke my heart to see him like that" Says Jade sadly.

I put my arm around her,
" Listen, it's going to be okay. I feel sorry for his girlfriend. She must be so confused"

Jade groans,
" I'm such an idiot, I didn't even know he had a girlfriend"

Neither did I until the other day to be fair.....

" That's not your fault....and anyway why are you so bothered?" I ask, expecting a genuine answer.

Jade shrugs and pulls the blanket up to her neck.
" I guess I like him a little. I wasn't planning on it.....and I'm not one to ruin relationships....I just feel stupid"

Well that was unexpected. I think I could tell Jade liked Ashton a bit, but I didn't realise how it was making her feel.

" Don't feel stupid. You can't help who you fall for....just don't do anything that could potentially cause damage okay?" I say sympathetically, but also seriously.

Jade nods,
" I'd never ruin a relationship...I'm not that kind of girl"

I run my hand through her hair,
" I know you're not. Keep smiling though Jade. It'll be over soon"

Calum's POV:

I watched Ashton all night last night. I am relieved, as his heartbeats increased throughout the night, giving me hope that he could be on the mend.

The only thing that worries me is the fact he's still unconscious and why he hasn't woken up yet.

" Cal, how about you go get some sleep, I'll stay with Ash for a bit" Says Luke, clearly seeing the tiredness of my face.

I want to sleep. I'm not going to lie, but I don't think I'd be able to knowing my friend is knocked out in the next room.

" Nah....I'll just go and fix the RV. See if the appliances are still working" I say, standing up to go and investigate the problems caused by the accident.

Luke nods and drags a chair from the other side of the room beside Ashton, so he can sit closer to him.

I take a heavy sigh and shut the door on the way out of the room.

" Well....the toilet and water are working. It's a bloody miricale" Says Jesy, running the tap, which is a bit jammed, but still running okay.

" How did you sleep last night?" I ask, picking up a plastic cup from the floor and filling it with water.

Jesy runs her hand through her hair and shrugs.
" Not great really. I think the shock got to me once I went to bed".

I nod my head. It's completely understandable really.

I look at the floor to see shattered glass from the glasses and plates which fell from the cupboard as we hit the ground.

" I'll pick some of this up. We don't need any more injuries do we" I say, trying to sound a bit comical, but not so bad that it's inconsiderate.

Jesy nods and crouches down on the floor beside me,
" I'll help you".

For a few moments it's silent as we pick up the glass shards that have been scattered all around the floor of the RV.

This could take hours by the looks of it.

" Oh man. Look at the place" Says Leigh hurrying beside us, and also assisting us cleaning the place.

" I know....I bet you didn't expect to have a holiday like this did you...." I say glumly, looking at Leigh-Anne who seems to be as drained as Jesy and I.

I feel proud because I've been posting pretty frequently this week which is rare lol.

However I don't know how long this will last as I'm doing some charity work this week so I may not be able to post as frequently.
