Chapter 4 - What A Great Start

Jade's POV:

It's the first day of our break and what time am I up at? 8am.

From out of the window I can hear what only seems to be lads shouting.

I put my thin robe on, and brush my hair before going downstairs and having a peep around the door to see what's going on.

" Cal!! It's simple all you do is swipe the card across the scanner" Moaned a guy, snatching the card off him and waving it around the little white box.

" What!? Why's it not working? " Shouts another guy.

I'm not going to lie, I'm highly amused by the activity going on next door.

" Ok, that's it I'll kick the door down"

" Luke!! That's not a good idea why don't we just get help".

Good idea I think to myself. I open the door and walk outside not paying attention to what they look like, just simply taking the card off them.

" Ok....for one this is the card to open the gates. Try the other card they gave you" I smirk passing the card back.

A blue haired boy then pulls out a second card and swipes it across the white scanner.

*Beep Beep*

" Thanks so much" Smiles a guy with longish hair.

" I know who you are" Grins one of them with a bit of a beard.

" Do you?" I ask heading off to our villa.

" You're Jade Thirlwall from Little Mix. We met you a few years back"

Then it clicks,
" Then you must be Luke, Ashton, Michael and Calum. I remember you, the girls took a shine to Michael ".

Michael smiles a little before thanking me again and walking into his villa.

" So Jade, how long are you here for?" Asks Luke playing with his lip ring.

I try to avoid what he is doing with it, which clearly seems to be some form of flirting because I'm not looking to date anybody right now.

" About 5 weeks" I say getting closer to the door trying to avoid a lengthy conversation.

Luke smiles,
" Literally the same as us! How about we all meet up tonight and get dinner somewhere? "

I don't know how to respond. I'd love to go out with them, but then if Luke's going to continue playing with his lip ring, I'm not too sure.

" Yeah, sounds like a plan" I respond realising I may have messed up.

" Awesome!" Smiles Ash as if he is answering for Luke.

I then walk back into the villa greeted by Pez in her swimming costume.

" You're going in the pool already?" I ask bewildered by the fact she's up as early as me.

" Seems like that, my air conditioning broke during the night" She responds walking outside to the pool.

I shrug and open the fridge. We literally have nothing in apart from fruit punch and cereal. That's a great start, we don't even know where the shops are.

I pour a glass and take a sip before shaking my head at how sweet it is.
" Well, you can tell we're not in England anymore " I whisper to myself.

I walk outside and join Perrie who is now in the pool resting her arms against the side of it.

" What you got there Jade?" She asks pulling her glasses up.

I shrug,
" Just some juice...I don't recommend it though, it's so bloody sour"

" Well you're a lightweight then if you can't handle some pop" Smirks Luke who is leaning against the mesh which separates our villas.

Oh god. It's Luke. What is Perrie going to say when she finds out I arranged a dinner date with 5SOS.

" Luke Hemmings! Hey Luke, it's been a while. So how are you?" Beams Perrie getting out of the pool.

" I'm fine thanks for asking, by the way has Jade told you about tonight?" Says Luke crossing his legs.

Perrie looks over at me placing her hand on her hip.
" What's going on tonight Jade?"

" I erm, sorta agreed to going out with the lads tonight. All of us obviously " I add.

Perrie smiles,
" Well, okay! Sounds like a plan. Anyways Jade, we better head off to the shops. Clearly we have nothing in"

I nod and me and Perrie rush inside the villa and shut the door.

Perrie's POV

" Wow, Jadey, you're really jittery today. You ok babe?" I ask looking at my Geordie companion who seemed out of focus.

" What? Yeah...I'm fine" She responds seeming slightly out of it.

" Well, you seemed fine until Luke came around the corner" I ask again a bit sterner, drying myself with a towel and wrapping what can only be described as a summer dress over my swimming costume.

Jade shakes her head and gets the key card,
" No, I just don't want him coming onto me, he's been a bit hands on and I don't want a boyfriend".

I can't believe this. We've been in America for a day or so and already we're having guy trouble.

" Jade....he asked us all out to dinner, I'm sure he's not proposing, now come on you'll be fine, let's go get some shopping" I say linking her arm before we head out together.

We finally find a shop called 7/11 a few blocks away, it basically looks like a petrol station, but by the looks of it it's a shop as well.

Walking inside instantly we are relieved to see it's stacked with shelves of food.

" Well then Thirlwall. Should we start filling this basket?" I ask picking up a shopping basket.

" We shall" Jade smiles in return walking off to have a look around.

I walk around and spot what seems to be a slush puppy machine and pick up two cups, one for me and one for Jade. I contemplate getting Jesy and Leigh one too before realising they're probably still asleep.

I place the cup under the machine and gaze in awe as it fills with bright blue slush.

" Pez...what on earth are you doing" Chuckles Jade approaching my side with a basket full of food.

" More like what have you been doing
Miss McVitie" I laugh referencing to the biscuits Jade had collected strolling around the shop.

Jade puts her hand on her hip,
" Don't diss my biscuits Pez"

Jade takes one of the cups from my hand and starts to fill it with every colour available.

" Geez Jade, I know you were going to take an art course in college but this is just showing off with your rainbow spectrum slushy" I laugh looking at my basic slush and Jade's glorious art explosion.

Jade winks and walks over to the counter with the basket of biscuits and other food supplies and I follow her pulling out my purse.

" I'll pay Pez" Smiles Jade.

I push her hand down forcing her to put her purse back in her bag before I hand a $20 bill to the stern looking lady behind the counter.

" Thanks pet" I smile as we leave through the glass doors into the searing sunlight.

As we sip our drinks and chat about the glorious weather Jade pulls her phone from her pocket.
" Ah, the sleeping beauty's are up" She Smirks.

" Better down these drinks then Jadey" I smile taking a larger sip of my slush, Jade imitating my moves as we walk down the street with the sun shining in our faces.
