Chapter 27 - Consequences

Leigh's POV

" You okay babe?" Asks Jesy who's lying beside me in our room.

I nod my head attempting to convince her, whilst deep inside I'm not. I just want to escape this place.

To be honest though there's no point in feeling sorry for myself, as everyone wants to get out of here too.

" I'm not either Leigh" Says Jesy obviously seeing right through me.

I should have known. Best friends can always see when something is up, so I shouldn't have bothered trying to hide it.

I look back at Jesy who has now focused her attention on the quiet nature outside, rather than myself.

" We'll be fine...but we need a better plan... waiting around won't help anybody" I say calmly sitting up.

From the inside of our room we can hear shouting and loads of commotion going on in the main room of the RV.

" JADE. HELP. I can't see!!" Shouts Ashton in sheer terror from the next room.

Me and Jesy exchange panicked glances before jumping out of the bed and into the main room.

In the seats at the front of the RV is a frantic Ashton, with Jade beside him also looking terrified, but trying her best to console him.

" Jade what's going on?!" I say, jumping around the side of the RV seats beside them.

" It's Ash! He says his vision is blurring" Stammers Jade, between fearful breaths.

At first I don't get how Ashton's vision is deteriorating, but then it hits me.

It was only a week ago he was involved in a serious crash, with severe concussion....this must be the after affects from not having treatment.

" It's probably aftermath of the crash" Says Jesy, the only one calm in the situation.

" Aftermath?! What?! F*cking blindness?!" Shouts Ashton, not meaning to offend Jesy, but frustrated from the fear.

I turn my attention to Ashton shouting curse words to himself.

" Ash, you've had no medical attention since the crash. This could be serious. Just calm down okay?" I say gently.

Ashton goes to shout something back, but ends up taking a deep sigh and not responding.

Hearing all the drama, quickly Michael and Calum shoot into the room with us, leaving us to explain what all the commotion is about.

" We need to find someone now! Where are Luke and Perrie?!" Asks Calum, looking around for our friends who have disappeared.

I shake my head in confusion, but then as if they heard us on about them, Luke and Perrie stumble out the bathroom and run beside us.

" Here!!" Pants Luke, clearly out of breath.

I exchange glances with Jade who is thinking exactly what I am thinking.

" We're you guys just-" Says Jade smirking, before being cut off by Luke who tells her to concentrate on the fact Ashton is losing his vision.

" Okay. I'm going looking for help. I'm sick of this. We're gonna die here if we don't act now" Demands Luke, heading towards the door.

" Wait! You can't go alone! I'll come too!" Says Perrie, which is completely bizzare given the fact she hated Luke last week.

Calum's POV:

" Pez please don't go" Pleads Jade as she stands to approach Perrie.

Perrie shakes her head and smiles,
" Jadey I'll be fine....we can't let him go alone"

Jade nods her head reluctantly and looks at her one last time before pulling her in for a hug.

" I promise I'll be back. We'll be back" Whispers Perrie, sounding slightly emotional given the fact we don't know if we'll ever make it out of this wilderness.

As the two friends pull apart, I place a comforting hand on Jade's shoulder, as we watch Luke and Perrie leave the RV.

As the door shuts, Jade shuffles out from under my shoulder and focuses back on our main priority. Ashton.

" Guys.....I'm scared now" Murmurs a deeply concerned Ashton, blinking violently, desperately trying to regain his vision.

Michael walks beside Ashton and sits next to him.
" Stay strong mate. We're gonna get you help okay? It's gonna be fine"

Ashton nods slowly,
" Given the fact my vision is all over the place and I can't do anything, I might as well sleep. Someone guide me to the bedroom please"

I exchange looks with Michael and we grab him gently underneath his arms and watch him walk in a careful pace towards the bedroom.

Finally in the room, Ashton places himself on the bed and lies down, before shutting his eyes.

" I guess that's our que to get out of here" I say, exiting the room and holding the door open for Michael who is behind me.

Why has everything become so hectic? I look at the smashed window of the RV and shake my head slowly, still talking in how fictional and movie-like everything feels.

" I hope Luke and Perrie find somebody. This is really quite dangerous" Says Jesy, revealing her true feelings now that Ashton is out of the room.

Leigh nods and walks over to the sink to twist the tap, only to be shocked by the speed the water is flowing at.

It slowly trickles from the opening, and drips into the plastic cup underneath.

Once it's full Leigh lifts it up,
" That took forty seconds to fill....we really need help. We're running out of everything"

We all agree to drink the water in the cup sparingly, and only take sips if it is definitely necessary.

I go to add on to the conversation,
" Plus we have no food left....well apart from-"

Leigh instantly cuts me off,
"Don't..you..dare..mention..that...bird"

I stop myself from mentioning the bird because it clearly freaks everybody out. Luke is good for many things, but emergency back up plans? Not so good I guess.

" I'm genuinely tempted to bring that thing in if it's our only hope. Bird or no bird" Frowns Michael.

I'm not going to complain to be honest.... I'm sort of glad one person agrees on the whole "plan B" thing.

That was dramatic right? Ashton can't see, Luke and Perrie are possibly a thing, Jade is saddened from Perrie's departure, Jesy is like the calmest person going, Malum both want to result to Luke's bizzare bird he found days before, and Leigh wants to launch at them for doing so!

This story is so weird...idek how some of you like it 😂😂
