Chapter 17 - Back To Reality

Perrie's POV

I wake to hear a voice shouting at me, but I can't make out who it is.

I know where I am, I remember being in the RV, but from the darkness of the surroundings and the muffled sound which my ears won't process, I'm left confused and scared.

" Perrie!!" Shouts the voice again, louder this time.

I open my eyes and try to focus intensely, and there before me I can see a terrified Luke Hemmings.

" Luke....what's going on" I ask, sitting up, slightly delirious and confused.

Luke shakes his head and looks at me.
" We've been in an accident, and at the moment we're the only ones showing any signs of activity"

I look around me, to see our band mates passed out on the floor of the RV, which has somehow remained upright.

" I've been outside. By the looks of it, we fell down some sort of hill. We've landed however in a forest beside a stream. I don't know where we are" Says Luke worriedly, pointing outside the window.

He's not wrong there. Peering out the window it's clear to see our RV has been entombed by trees.

" Luke....what's going on?" Asks Calum sitting up not showing signs of injury, just confusion.

Luke explains the situation to Calum, whilst I crawl over to Jesy, who is lying awake but dazed.

" It's going to be alright beautiful" I say with a tear rolling down my face.

Jesy looks up at me,
" I'm fine Pez....wake up the others. We need to know if they're okay"

I nod my head and try to wake Michael and Leigh who are lying unconscious, side by side.

" Michael? Leigh? Come on guys please wake up" I say taking deep breaths trying to process everything.

Leigh-Anne shudders and I feel a slight sense of relief seeing her eyes twitch a little. Michael however doesn't move an inch and I grow concerned.

"Michael. For gods sake" I say practically begging.

Nothing.

" Luke have you tried waking Jade and Ashton? Michael is totally out of it" I shout over.

Luke looks over at me,
" I have Jade awake".

Jesy tends to Michael and Leigh so I rush over to Jade, who is bleeding a little, her face the definition of fear.

She looks at me slightly and begins to sob into her hands.

" Shhhh, Jade. It's going to be okay" Says Luke trying not to get choked up, lifting up her head, wiping the blood away from the cut that has been engraved in her skin.

" But.... but...Ashton" She stutters, pointing out the lifeless body, drooped over the steering wheel.

" He's going to be fine. It's going to be okay" Says Luke, surprisingly calm, wrapping his arm around Jade's shoulder.

Jade reluctantly nods her head and sinks into Luke's arms. This is short lived, as she almost immediately notices Leigh and Michael.

" LEIGH!!!!" Shouts Jade horrified, rushing over.

" Geez Jade...calm down. I'm alright" Says Leigh, finally propping herself up against the table.

Well I guess we're getting somewhere. That's 6/8 of us awake...and alive.

Michael's POV

All I can hear at the moment seems to be madness.

" I knew he should have stopped..." I murmur, remembering Ashton's desperation to try and get back.

I look around the room to see the damage. In a bizzare way, the RV is fine....only a few damaged cupboards.

Just when I think everyone is awake, I see the body of Ashton hanging limply over the steering wheel.

"Holy shit" I mutter, building up my strength to walk over to my friend.

Once I make it to the front of the RV, I climb over the chairs to sit beside Ash.

" Ashton....come on. Get up" I say gently shaking his shoulder, enough to wake him, but weak enough to avoid hurting him.

Ashton doesn't respond. He just remains still, and completely away.

I feel tears glazing over my eyes, but blink them away to avoid any upset from the others.

" Guys....I don't know" I say glumly, trying to look for the pulse on his wrist.

Nobody says a word. They just remain silent, all of them looking broken.

I press my head against his chest and pray for a sign.

It's silent for a few seconds, but just when I'm about to lose hope on my friend, I can hear a faint heartbeat.

" He's alive. His hearts beating" I say slightly breathlessly from the scare he gave me.

They all breathe a sigh of relief.

" Guys, I think we should move him to the bed. We can't leave him stooped over the wheel" Says Jesy, now sounding a bit more like herself.

I nod. It's a bit risky moving Ash, giving the situation, but then it can't be good leaving him in the state he's in.

Together we all gather around Ashton and carefully begin to pick him up.

Given the fact there's 7 of us, it's not as hard as we'd believe it would have been.

As quick, but as gentle as possible, we begin to move in the direction of one of the bedrooms. Luke then kicks the door open with his foot.

Jade rushes over to the duvet cover and pulls it back so we can place Ashton in it.

We then carefully place him on the bed and pull the duvet up slightly so then he doesn't get too cold.

" We still have no signal" Says Calum with a groan, mainly at the fact we have a seriously bad situation on our hands.

" We're just gonna have to monitor him. We can take shifts. I'll go first" Says Calum.

I nod. However now Ashton has taken up an entire bed, we literally have two left.

" Where are we all gonna sleep.... there's gonna be like 3 in each bed if Calum's not sleeping tonight" Says Perrie, realising what I was thinking.

" We're just going to have to enjoy eachother's company" Says Luke quietly.

" How about we have one dude and two girls per bed...I'm not being weird. I just don't want one of you being uncomfortable..." I say politely.

" That's unless you'd rather us sleep on the chairs?" Adds Luke, also realising it could be a bit odd.

They all exchange looks before Perrie speaks up.

" No. We don't expect you to sleep in the crime scene. How about Jade, Luke and I, and Jesy, Leigh and yourself?" Says Perrie, trying to come to a compromise.

I nod, whatever works to be honest.

" Well goodnight then everyone. Cal, keep an eye on him....let us know if you want to sleep" I say patting Cal on the shoulder.

" I will do" Smiles Cal weakly, leaning over to Ashton.

WRITING THIS CHAPTER WAS SO SAD YOU DON'T EVEN REALISE.

Obviously they weren't all going to miraculously be fine, unharmed after plummeting of the edge of a steep hill....
