Chapter 21 - Searching

Jade's POV:

Ashton being awake is a relief to me. I know I haven't known him for long, but if anything was to have happened to him, it would have been unbearable.

I've decided to go on a walk to see if I can find a way to get out of here. Luke got up and agreed to come and help me look.

" Come on then" Says Luke, opening the RV door after a few heavy pushes.

When the door finally breaks open, we both step out into the fresh air of the forest we've been trapped in.

" Let's go" I say shutting the door after myself, Luke infront of me, already looking as if he's on a mission.

We walk for a while in the darkness of the forest and talk about our lives back home, and the people we love.

Luke tells me how his family agreed to sort out his tour equipment and guitars whilst he was away, which I found kind of cute.

" So...Jade. Who are you missing back at home?" Asks Luke as we walk over some stepping stones to the other side of a small river.

I have a think. Probably me mam, and me dad. Who am I kidding, I'm missing everybody back home. What I'd do to be with them right now.

" Not got a boyfriend waiting for you?" Luke asks quietly.

I shake my head,
" Nope"

Luke shakes his head and smiles,
" That's really weird, you'd think such a beautiful girl like yourself would have guys queuing all down the street to be with you"

I try not to go red, but I feel my cheeks getting warm.

" Wanna sit down for a moment?" Luke asks, as he notices a few logs left on the side beside the river bank.

I nod. To be honest, we have been walking for quite a while. It'd only be right to chill out for a bit. Then also perhaps I can try to tell Luke that I'm not interested..... nicely of course.

" Jade....I need to tell you...I really...really like you" Says Luke, shyly.

" Luke....listen" I say suddenly hoping he'll listen to me.

" What?" Asks Luke, moving closer to my side on the log, so that we're centimetres apart.

" I don't know....if I want....this... it's just-"

Before I can say another word, I feel Luke's lips press against my own. I feel like pulling away, but I just can't. I can't do it, I'm under Luke's trance.

Luke runs his hand through the back of my hair, and I let him. Finally I pull away and I'm left staring right at him.

" Er....that...was-" I say .

" Good?" Luke says in an attempt to finish my sentance.

" Sudden" I say, standing up from the log and taking a breath of air.

I suddenly feel consumed by guilt as I realise Luke isn't the guy I wanted to be kissing, and I certainly don't want to be leading him on.

But then he kissed me. The only problem was I kissed him back, and at first I liked it.

Now however.....I feel as if I've made a big mistake. Not big, but huge.

Luke's POV:

I don't know what to think right now. Jade is staring at me with a blank, but worried expression.

" Jade..... what's the problem" I ask nervously, now confused on whether I should have kissed her.

" The problem....is I just kissed a guy...that I shouldn't have been kissing" Shouts Jade, putting her hand through her hair in frustration.

Great. Well now not only do I feel as if my heart's been shattered, but also I feel like a heartless jerk for kissing her.

I stand up,
" To be fair Jade, you didn't protest against it. In fact, you kept going"

Jade shoots her head in my direction.
" Luke....I don't know if you're aware, but I clearly have been avoiding you all week...."

Well. I knew she wasn't too keen on dating me, but still, avoiding me makes me feel a bit shit.

" What's the big deal?! Did you not enjoy that?" I say miserably, starting to walk back in the direction we came in.

Jade follows behind me, picking up her speed.
" I don't know Luke! But even if I did, it wouldn't work out!"

I stop and grab her by the shoulders,
" But why won't it?! I really like you Jade, I've only realised this, this week, but I really do care for you"

Jade's eyes become glazed with tears and she looks back up at me.
" If you cared for me Luke, you'd forget this happened, and you'd let me do what's right for myself"

I release my grip and watch as the starts to walk off in front of me.

But what about what's right for me?..

The walk back is silent and Jade makes sure she stays well ahead of me.

I stay a bit further back, mainly because I know she wants space, but then also because I don't want my head being bitten off.

I feel bad for most of the walk back, for kissing Jade, for failing to find a way out of here, and also because I know I have to get back in a bed with Jade tonight.

I don't want to have to see her everyday now feeling guilty over the fact I made her feel bad.

When we arrive back at the RV, Jade doesn't hesitate to march in and storm off into the bedroom, slamming the door behind her.

" What's up with Jade?" Asks Calum, noticing the scene she just made.

I swallow anxiously,
" Er.. she's just upset about the fact we couldn't find anyone to help us..better leave her for a while"

Jesy pulls a sympathetic face at Leigh-Anne,
" Bless her. She must really be missing home as well. She's a proper family girl Jade"

I nod,
" She'll be alright. We won't be here forever"

Or at least I hope we won't..... because after today, I can't wait to get out of here.

I wanted to make a little plot twist for you guys, just to intensify the story because I'm considerate af.

Kidding. I just got really creative about this chapter, and I guess I wanted to do something a bit unexpected.
