"The time it would take to test the phone would take a year, at least. The phones won't be able to stay charged  for a week."

"Well you have one month so start working." My dad ordered.

"But sir.." The lady said.

I rolled my eyes and continued to spin around in the swirly chair. It moved and bumped into the table and when my leg shot up to stop spinning, it hit the projector.

The projector fell to the floor, making all the business people glare at me. I stared down at the damage as Dad started scolded me.

"Well since you broke the presentation, would you like to tell me what our sales were?" He asked.

"they'd probably be higher if you improved things that actually needed improved." I sassed.

"Like what?" One man asked.

"Well..." I hummed, setting my feet on the big table, "Oh, for one. Why is the ringtone the same for everything? I need to know if its twitter or instagram or just my email. Cuz lets be honest, only two of those things I actually care about. And its not the email."

The small board room nodded at me and Dad just stared at me.

"is there a way to stop people from butt-dialing because if so, I want-"

"ME AT THE PARTY, SHE WANTS ME AT THE MALL, SHE WANTS ME IN THE BATHROOM STALL."

I flew out of my seat and raced to answer my phone. The loud, very suggestive song continued as I fumbled to get the device out of my backpack.

I pressed answer and cut Luke off, "YOU CHANGED MY RINGTONE!?"

I pushed out of the boardroom and away from my angry father.

"Oh, yeah. I did that a while ago, I guess this is the only time I've called you. You busy?" Luke asked.

"Yeah, I was busy trying to turn my phone off as my dad addressed his business. So thanks for that." I snapped.

"Hey, baby, I didn't know. I'm sorry." Luke said.

"Sorry isn't going to fix this, alright? My dad already hates me and you only made it worse!" I exclaimed, slamming my palm against the elevator button.

"Baby, please don't be mad." He asked quietly, "I didn't know."

"No, I mean, yeah..i know I just. I'm sorry." I said softly, "I didn't mean to blow up. I'm just going crazy here. I can't handle it, I hate it here."

The elevator dinged and I stepped inside, "I just want to be there with you. Swimming and not in four shirts, two socks and five pounds of clothes."

"I miss you." Luke said.

"I miss you too." I sighed, "I-"

A hand slipped between the elevator doors, making them reopen, and my dad stepped in.

"Phone." He ordered.

"But-"

He ripped the phone out of my hand and ended the call. Then he stood there and deleted Luke's number.

"Dad, you can't-"

"I can't what!? I paid for the phone, hêll, I made this damñ phone!" He roared, "You will never talk to that boy, do you understand me?"

I nodded, feeling my eyes water. He threw the pinkphone against the wall, letting it shatter.

"Take those stupid things out of your ears and your face." He ordered.

I gave him another nod and with shaking hands, I pulled my black earrings out. He held his hand out and I handed them over.

I carefully took the eyebrow piercing, knowing it would immediately close up just like my ears. Handing it over, I stared down at the ground.

"No laptop, no phone, and no going out of the apartment. You are grounded."
