Chapter 8

We all come back to the house exhausted from our long day at the beach.

"I'll text you tomorrow morning," Connor says as he walks out the door.

"Ok," I say giving him a kiss goodbye.

"Today was so much fun!" Erin says after the guys are gone.

"I know."

"Guess what I got!" she says excitedly.

"What?" I ask scooting closer to her on the couch.

"Jc's number!" she says whipping out a little folded piece of paper.

"You did not!" I screech.

"Hell yeah I did!" She exclaims handing me the paper. I quickly unfold it and read the numbers. Scrawled underneath it in Jc's writing it says- Spending time with you today was a lot of fun! Hope to do it again soon gorgeous(:

I let out I scream,"he called you gorgeous too!"

"I know!" she says. we talk for another hour realizing it's now 10:00. We decide to go to our rooms.

I take a quick shower once I get upstairs. I walk to the windows and decide to sleep with them open tonight.

I fall asleep to the soft sound of crickets and the smell of the salty air.

I wake up to the sound of seagulls outside my window. I glance over at the clock reading the digital numbers that say 8:00. I change into a pair of spandex running shorts and a tshirt. I slide on my gym shoes grab my phone and headphones and head out to take a run on the beach.

Not very many people are there only some early morning surfers. I run down the beach for at least an hour then decide to turn back.

The house finally comes into view so I slow to a walk for the rest of the way.

"Morning!" I say to Erin as I walk into the kitchen to grab a glass of water.

"Morning, how was the run?" she asks.

"It was nice, not to hot out." I reply.

"That's good."

I check my phone and I see a text from Connor.

Connor: Good morning lovely! I don't think we can hangout today I have a meet up to go to about an hour away so I won't be back until late evening.

I reply back.

Me: That's fine I just kinda wanted to relax today anyways.

My phone lights up.

Connor: Alright we can go on a date tomorrow night if that sounds good to you. I was thinking we could go somewhere nice.

Me: That sounds great! I'll talk to you when you get back from the meet up. I have some stuff to do around the house.

Connor: M'kay bye(:

I lock my phone and start to wash the dishes. Once I'm done I go take a quick shower. As I'm getting dressed I realize how bare my room is and decide to go shopping for some décor.

"Hey can I borrow your car?" I ask Erin as I walk downstairs.

"Yeah, where ya going?" she asks.

"I need to get some stuff to decorate my room. I'm not really sure when I'll be back."

"Ok," she says. I grab the keys and get in the car. I back out of the driveway and decide to go to Target.

I walk through the isles of the store and decide to grab a large bulletin board and a white metal flower design to hang on my wall.

I hear a familiar laugh from a few isles over so I peek around the corner. It's Connor and he's with another girl. I quickly start to panic not sure what to do. I set the things down in the isle and peek around the corner quietly spying on them.

The girl laughs at something Connor says. Before I know it the girl stands on her tiptoes and kisses Connor right on the lips.
