California Dream

Chapter 13

Kian and I make our way to the Castle after finishing our food.

"Do you see Erin and Jc anywhere?" I ask since we had agreed to meet there.

"No not yet they'll be here soon," Kian replies.

I look around me. It's almost completely dark making it harder to see anything. "Found them!" I say as I spot Jc's "Jack's Surf Shop" snapback. I push through the crowd as Kian follows behind me.

"Hey!" Erin says as I walk up to her.

"Hola," I shoot back.

"You guys want to ride some more rides?" Jc asks us.

"Sure!" Erin says. We make our way over to another ride. Ever since me and Kian kissed things got awkward between us. We both just kind of stand there trying not to make any eye contact.

"What's going on with you two?" Erin asks.

"Nothing," Kian quickly replies.

"Ok then?" Erin answers. We board the ride and it takes off. I scream some more and they all laugh at me. Nothing to different there.

"I'm tired. Is it ok if we go home?" Erin asks.

We all reply with a yes agreeing that we're tired too. We watch the fireworks before leaving then head out of the park.

I climb into the car and strap the seat belt around me. I check my phone for the time- 10:30.

I close my eyes and almost instantly fall asleep. I drift into a dream where Kian and Connor are both fighting for some reason. The more I stand there watching them fight and listen to what they say I realize that they're fighting over me. I wake up to someone calling my name.

"What?" I moan as I open my eyes.

"You started yelling in your sleep it kinda scared us," Kian says.

"Oh sorry."

"What were you dreaming about?" Jc asks.

"I don't remember." I lie. The car goes silent, no one really knows what else to say. Jc pulls the car into the driveway. I unbuckle my seatbelt and say bye. Erin quickly leans over and kisses Jc before climbing out of the car. We wave bye as they pull away and walk inside.

"Ok seriously what were you dreaming about?" Erin presses.

"It was nothing," I say looking at the ground.

"Stop lying to me." she says sternly.

"Fine. I kissed Kian while you and Jc went off on your own. I told him that it felt wrong doing that to Connor since I knew he was still hurting. My dream ended up being Kian and Connor getting into a fight over me and I was screaming to try and get them to stop."

"Holy shit you kissed Kian!?" she says giving me a shocked look.

"Yes, ok? Can we just stop talking about it."

"No we can not just stop talking about it. This is serious. You literally just broke up with Connor like a day and a half ago," she says still a bit shocked.

"I know. I was hurting and I just wanted someone. I know Kian likes me so I just ended up kissing him."

"You can't just do that to Kian though. You're practically just teasing him," she explains.

"I know," I say.
