*Erin's PV*
"Hello, I'm doctor Harris," A short women with blonde hair says as she walks in the room.
I stand up from my chair and shake her hand. "I'm Erin. So how's she doing?" I press.
"She has a severe concussion. I'm guessing when she broke her arm the pain from that didn't help either. The pain from both combined caused her to black out which isn't a good thing when you have a concussion. Truthfully right now we think she's in a coma. Her vital signs look ok, but her breathing still isn't steady. She'll be taken into surgery first thing in the morning to fix her arm," Dr. Harris explains.
"Ok. Thank you," I say.
"If you need anything just come to the nurses station right outside here."
"Thanks," I say forcing a smile.
Dr. Harris leaves and I'm left with the sounds of the room. I decide to go tell Kian and Jc what's going on.
"How's she doing?" Kian says immediately after seeing me walk in.
"She has a severe concussion and a severe broken arm, when the pain from those two came together it made her black out. The doctor said it's not good when you black out with a concussion so they think she's in a coma." I pause still trying to take everything in. "She's going into surgery first thing tomorrow morning to fix her arm."
I see a tear streak across Kian's cheek. I go to Jc and sit in his lap. A tear runs down my face. Jc finds it and wipes it away.
"It's ok Erin. She's going to be ok," he comforts.
"But what if she's not. That's my best friend in there hooked up to a breathing machine because she can't even breath on her own," I cry.
"You just have to try and fight through this," he says. "You need to stay strong for her."
I wipe the tears from my face and climb out of Jc's lap.
"You're probably right. It's just I'm scared for her. She just looks so innocent and vulnerable in there. That's probably what she looked like when Travis was..." I can't even bring myself to say beating her without absolute rage coming into me I just decide to stop talking.
"Do you know when visitors are allowed to go in?" Kian asks.
"No I don't I'll go ask the nurse." I make my way back into the ICU.
"Excuse me," I say to the nurse at the nursing station.
"Yes, how can I help you?" She asks.
"I just wanted to know what time visitors are allowed in the ICU room."
"Visitors are allowed in the room between the times of 10am to 8pm," she says giving me a soft smile.
"Thanks."
"No problem sweetie. If you need anything else just come and ask."
"I will thanks." I turn and walk into Annie's room. I take a quick look at her as just to check if she's ok. I turn and walk back out to the waiting room.
"Visiting times are 10am to 8pm," I say as I walk in the door of the waiting room.
"Ok thanks," he says. I look him over. I can tell how antsy he is. He doesn't sit still for a very long time. I know how that is. When my grandma was in the ICU I couldn't go in because I was to young. I felt the exact same way. Even though you know they're ok you just have this feeling inside of you that they aren't until you actually go check on them yourself.
I do the only thing that I remembered that helped me, "Do you guys want to go walk around? Just get out of this stuffy waiting room."
Kian ponders it. He looks as if when he leaves Annie will magically wake up. "No I'll stay here," he says.
"Kian, nothing's going to happen while you're gone. You need to get out of this room or you're going to drive yourself insane."
He just sits there not sure if he should believe me or not. He slowly stands from the chair he was sitting in. "Fine I'll go."
Jc stands too and we make our way to the hospital cafeteria. On our way I look at Kian more closely. For the first time I actually notice how bad his black eye really is.
"How's your eye doing?" I ask.
"It's hurts but it's no big deal."
"Let's get you some ice when we get to the cafeteria," Jc says.
The elevator doors slide open and all three of us step in.
"I can't believe I let him do this to her," Kian says.
"Kian there was nothing you could've done," Jc comforts.
"I know but it's just that stupid ass, how could you hurt such an innocent person?" he questions.
"I don't know. He's messed up in the mind," I say.
"Thank god they took him to jail," Jc says.
My phone starts to vibrate in my pocket.
"Hello?" I say raising it to my ear.
"How is she?" I hear Ashley say on the other end. I tell her everything the doctor had told me.
"When are visiting times?" she asks.
"10am to 8pm. I still have to check what time her surgery is though."
"Alright well when you find out call me."
"Ok I will," I reply.
"Bye."
"Bye," I lock my phone and slide it back into my pocket.
We make our way into the cafeteria and look around at all the food selections. None of us are very hungry so we just decide to get something to drink.
I'll go get a table while you guys pay," I say.
"Ok." I turn the corner into the eating area. There's not very many people just a couple of people scattered around. I take a seat at a table by the wall.
"Here you go," Jc says setting my tea on the table.
"Thanks." Jc takes a seat next to me and Kian sits down across from Jc. I lay my head on Jc's shoulder and prop my feet on the chair across from me.
We all just sit there drinking our drinks in silence.
I try to spark a conversation. "So how's everything going with the YouTube channel?"
"It's good," Kian replies.
"That's good. What's the theme this week?"
"Favorites," Jc says.
"That's cool whose video was today? I'm still not very good with all the O2L stuff," I say.
"Today was Friday, so Trevor," Kian tells me.
"And you're tomorrow right?"
"Yup."
"So what are you doing in your video?" I ask.
"Well I already filmed it earlier in the week but all I really do is just list of my favorite things," he says.
"Oh I see." I decide to stop talking because there's not much else to say.
Now all we have to do is just sit and wait.
