Chapter 36

I close my laptop and lay down on my bed. Thoughts flood through my mind all the way from, the first day I had moved out to California, to my family, then Kian. I close my eyes and just end up falling asleep.

The sound of my phone vibrating on the bedside table wakes me up.

"Hello?" I say still not completely awake.

"Did I wake you up?" Kian asks on the other end.

"Yeah I was just taking a nap it's no big deal."

"Oh sorry," he apologizes.

"It's fine. What's up?" I ask.

"Well I was about to come over and I was hungry so I was going to see if you wanted anything."

"Sure what were you planning on getting?" I ask.

"Just some Tacobell."

"Of course you were," I laugh.

"Hey, what's wrong with loving Tacobell?" he questions.

"Nothing, nothing at all."

"So do you want anything?"

"Uh sure just get me a large baja blast freeze," I say.

"You sure thats all you want?"

"Yeah I've got goldfish, I'm good."

"Ok one question," he says.

"What might that be?" I ask.

"What's with you and goldfish?"

"Honestly I have no idea I just really love them. I always have and I always will," I say.

He laughs, "Ok then. I'll be over in a little."

"Bye," I tell him.

"Bye." I hit the end call button then check the time. Its already 6:00 I was asleep for a good 3 hours.

I get out of bed and walk downstairs.

"Hey guys," I say to Erin and Ashley.

"Yeah?" They answer.

"Kian should be over in a bit just tell him to come on upstairs."

"Ok," they both reply.

I grab my large carton of goldfish from the top of the fridge then retreat back to my room.

I lay back down on my bed and turn the TV on. Nothing good is on. I switch the channels over and over again but there's nothing. I just decide to leave it on Spongebob even though I'm not really in the mood for it.

I look around my room not really sure what to do while I wait for Kian.

"Knock, knock," I hear Kian say outside my door.

"Come in," I say back.

The door swings open revealing Kian as he juggles my baja blast freeze, a Tacobell bag, and movies in his other hand.

"Need some help?" I ask.

"Nah I got it." He manages to close the door then make it to my bed without dropping anything.

I clap as he hands me my drink then sits down in front of me.

"Impressive," I say jokingly.

"Well I try," he replies with a laugh.

"Thanks for the drink by the way."

"No problem."

"So how was the workout?" I ask.

"It was good. I've kind of been slacking lately that's why I had to get it in this afternoon."

"Please, have you seen your biceps!" I say.

"Yeah actually I have," he jokes.

"Shush. You are not slacking. If anyone's slacking on working out it's me," I say as I slap my stomach.

"You're not slacking anything you look good," he says as he winks at me.

"Oh stop it," I tell him as I playfully slap his arm. "So what movies did you bring?" I ask.

"All the classics duh!" he says rolling his eyes jokingly.

"Let me see them." I grab the movies and search through them. There's Finding Nemo, Lion King, Monsters Inc., and then there's just Elf.

"Truthfully I think I'm going to have to go with Elf," I tell him.

"Really? I thought you'd choose one of the Disney movies."

"No we'll save those for later." I slide the movie into the DVD player then lay back down on the bed. Kian moves up with his back against the wall and I cuddle up next to him.

We watch the movie occasionally laughing here and there. When the movie ends I look up at Kian.

"You know what I'm going to miss?" I ask Kian.

"What?" He asks.

"The snow during the winter. Ive never experienced a winter without snow."

"Really?" He questions.

"Yup. It's going to be really weird."

"I bet it is. I'm used to it since I've grown up around here but yeah that will be strange for you. How soon does it start snowing I'm Kentucky?" He asks.

"Uh last year it snowed on Halloween so pretty soon. I think the latest I've ever seen it snow to is into early March."

"I could never deal with that. I hate the cold."

"You get used to it I guess. In Kentucky the winters get really cold and the summers are usually blistering hot with humidity mixed in with it," I explain.

"Ugh that sounds horrible."

"That's one of the main reasons I moved here," I say.

"Now I really understand," he says with a laugh.

I glance at the clock and notice it's 8:00.

"So what movie do you want to watch now?" I ask.

"How's Finding Nemo?"

"Sounds good to me." I slide the DVD into the player then cuddle back up to him.

We sit through the movie. I remember all the parts from watching it so many times. As the movie plays the sun sets all the way and the stars pop out in the sky. The room grows dark except for the light from the TV.

The movie ends and I look at the time- 11:00.

I glance up at Kian and notice he's asleep. I know I really should wake him up but all I really want to do is just have him here next to me for the rest of the night. I decide to leave him be and just let him sleep here for tonight.

I turn the TV off and cuddle up close to him. I close my eyes and fall asleep almost instantly.
