Chapter 27

"Hi my name's Sarah I'll be your daytime nurse while you stay in this room." A woman who looks to be about 30 tells me.

"Hi I'm Annie," I say.

Kian helps me up from my wheelchair and into the hospital bed. Now I understand why they want to keep me for another week. Whenever I stand my head feels like it's just spinning in circles.

"Can I get you anything?" Sarah asks.

"Is there like any medication that I can take that'll get rid of the pain in my head?" I ask.

"No sorry the only thing we can give you is pain meds and if that doesn't help with the headache nothing will," she explains.

"Ok thanks anyway."

"No problem." She gives me a smile then leaves the room.

I check the time on my phone it's 7:30pm. Now that I'm out of the ICU visiting hours have been extended to an hour earlier and an hour later.

"Do you want anyone to spend the night with you tonight?" Kian asks.

"No none of you have to spend the night you guys should go home and get some sleep in your own beds," I say.

"If you want someone here I'll stay," Kian assures me.

"Are you positive you're fine with it?" I ask him.

"Yes it's fine."

"Ok. How late are you all staying?" I ask everyone else.

"Me and Jc are leaving in about a half hour to go see a movie," Erin says.

"Connor and I can stay as late as you want us here," Ashley tells me.

"You guys can leave whenever you want," I reply.

"I have to leave in about an hour so I can get some sleep. I have an AwesomenessTV skit to do in the morning," Ricky says.

"Alright well whenever you all want to leave its fine I don't have a problem with it," I tell them.

Erin and Jc end up leaving in about a half hour to go catch their movie and Ricky leaves just after them.

A little after Ashley stands from her chair, "We better get going I have to get home and see how Raphael is doing."

"Tell Raphael I miss him," I say to Ashley.

She laughs a little,"ok I will." She gives me a hug. "Hope you feel better."

Connor gives me a quick hug too, "feel better," he tells me, then they leave.

Kian and I are left in the room alone.

"Finally they're gone!" Kian says.

I let out a laugh. "Oh stop they're here to make me feel better."

"I know but I just want you to myself," he says.

"I know but that's kind of hard when one of us are in the hospital with a concussion."

"Very true. Is your head feeling any better?" He asks.

"It's alright I guess. I just want out of this hospital that's what'll make me feel better."

"I know you do. You want me to see if I can take you outside in the wheelchair?"

"Yes! Please!" I plead.

He laughs," Ok I'll go see."

I lay back in the bed hoping and hoping I can get out of this torturing room.

"Sarah said we could," Kian says as he walks in.

I thrust my fist into the air just like in The Breakfast Club, "Yes!" I exclaim.

Kian just stands there and laughs at me.

"Hey if you were me you'd understand. No making fun of me until you're in this situation mister," I say to him.

"Yes ma'am," he says holding his laugh back.

Kian brings the wheel chair in and picks me up from the bed placing me in the chair.

"Thank you kind sir," I say.

"You're welcome madam," he says playing along with me.

We make it outside and instantly I start to feel better. Never have I loved the smell of fresh air so much.

"Hey Kian!" I hear a girl call from the other side of the hospital entrance.

"Oh hey Aubrey," Kian says to the girl.

"Who's this?" She asks with a smile.

"This is Annie," Kian says.

"Hi nice to meet you I'm Aubrey," She says to me.

"Nice to meet you too."

"It's good to see you're awake," she says.

"How'd you know I was in a coma?" I ask her.

"I met Kian last night he told me about you," she says.

"How's your mom doing?" Kian asks her.

"She's doing good."

"That's good to hear," he says to her.

"Well I've got to go. It was nice seeing you again Kian, it was nice meeting you Annie," she says.

"It was nice meeting you too," I reply. She turns and walks back into the hospital.

"How'd you meet her?" I ask Kian.

"I came out here last night after everyone left and she came up to me and we just started talking."

"Oh. What happened to her mom?" I question.

"She has cancer."

"Oh."

"Yup." I close my eyes and breath in more of the fresh air trying to take in as much as possible.

"Annie?" Kian says.

"Yeah?"

"I really like you. You know that right?" he asks.

"Yeah, why?"

"Well you like me right?" He questions.

"Yes."

"Well would you want to be my girlfriend?" he asks shyly.

"Kian I would love to be your girlfriend," I say giving him a big smile. He looks me in the eyes and shows me his big cute smile that I've come to love over the years.

I lean in and kiss him, and again it's like no kiss I have ever experienced.
