11. A Crush On My Husband

"Umm... Ana? Is that you?" That voice.. I know! Oh my God!! Not him....please..

"Anastasia Greene??"

This is it ,I gotta face him. I turn to look at him. His face imparts various emotions. It still had the same disgust which he saw me with, a few years back. But today there were mixed emotions plastered on his face. Weird.

"Umm...Good Evening Mr. Joseph. Its a pleasure meeting you again." I say.

"I'm Neva happy meeting you, Anastasia and you know that much better than me. You are still the same old stray garbage in my eyes. Your standards shall neva improve. How are you even standing inside my hotel?" He bents down to whisper in my ears so that no one could hear us while I tried to keep my tears behind and stay strong in front of him. All those images of insults and embarrassment kept flooding in front of my eyes. My heart ached the same pain which I felt years back.

"Mr. Joseph?"

My savior is here. Just hearing his warm voice, I was back to reality. I was in pain, and its magical how one person can have control over your feelings, emotions and strength and relieve you off the pain. All those tears in my eyes dried immediately.
Drake heads towards us.

"Ah... Mr. Issa Joseph!! How have you been?... Its been a very long time sir. I'm glad we finally met." I could see the way Drake was delighted while he shook the monster's hand.

"Mr. Joseph, meet my wife, Anastasia." He displays me proudly in front of the monster. But the devil gives off his devil's smile.

"Do you guys know each other?" Drake laughs off lightly while asking ,just to keep the conversation going ,I guess.

"No, no. We don't know each other." I state right away. I don't want my husband to gain false images and truthless information from him. I don't want my husband to see me the way, the monster looks at me. I don't want my husband to think I'm ugly. I don't want my husband to think I'm worth nothing. I don't want my husband to judge me based on the demon's words. I want my husband to know me on his own.

"We didn't know eachother until you walked in ,Drake." He pats Drake's shoulder. Surprisingly, he goes along to support my lies.
"Well, you have a very pretty wife, Drake. Anastasia Cooper huh?!" I could see the fakeness in his smile while he said that. I scowl at his words which luckily Drake doesn't notice.

"Okay guys, I think I need to go back in helping Violet. She needs my help. We haven't fixed the problem, yet. I'll be back once the problem is sorted out, Ana. Looks like you have good companion here. Mr. Joseph will keep you occupied in his talks until I'm back." He smiled at me and waved at the devil.

"Drake... Drake but-" even before I could complete the sentence, he was gone! He was gone leaving me and the demon alone.

"It looks like even your newly wed husband has no patience to hear you out,Anastasia. You're all alone baby." He mocked at me. I felt so terrible and devastated. "Do you know how beautiful Violet is? In front of Violet, you're nothing!! Don't you think Drake will have a tiny little infatuation on her. Oh wait...he might have already fallen for that beautiful thing by now." Hearing his words, I couldn't help but doubt Drake. Does he consider me as his wife? I don't even know if he loves me. Thinking everything, I was about to break down but I didn't. I should be a strong girl in front of him.

"Look at them, look over there!!" He points at the two people who were sitting closely and typing something on the laptop.

"Anastasia, can you see how intensely your husband works along with his secretary-Ms. Violet?"

"This is something you're seeing only today. Think about how they work along with eachother everyday. Anastasia, he is not yours. Drake has told me that he has married you due to some family issues which I neva bothered to ask. One thing I'm very much aware is, Drake has neva married you out of love." I was completely crushed down that I couldn't even look up at him.

"Have your dinner. I need to talk to you more. Don't run away. Of all people, you wouldn't like to miss this talk for sure." With that he turned his back at me and walks away.

What would he want to talk about...with me? He was the one who asked me to stay away? Will it be about....
