41. A Crush On My Husband

DRAKE'S POV:

"What do you know about her, Aura? " I questioned her calmly,after getting my head right from everything Jack narrated.

I have no clue why i couldn't believe anything he told me in the first place.

Everytime Jack kept mentioning about Anabelle, my inner mind kept saying that 'She is dead.'

But at the end Jack said that Aura knew more. I knew i had to step down from all my ego and talk to her. This moment i wanted my old pals by my side.

Surely i could see her choke on her soup, and Jack gaping at me. But i just brushed them away like nothing from normal happened.

When Aura was aware that i kept giving her a straight face and looking her in her eye, she knew the question asked earlier to her wasn't a joke. She closed her eyes for a few seconds and sighed.

"Here, have this soup. I'll tell you. " her words were as calm as a soul while she kept her bowl of soup on the table and took a new bowl to give it to me.

My gaze shifted from her to the bowl she was holding onto. Seeing the soup, i realised my throat was parched and moreover the soup looked delicious. I took the bowl from her indicating her to begin her part of the story about Anabelle.

She inhaled.

"Okay, don't freak out when i say this to you." her words made me more nervous and i could feel my fingers numb and cold. Since i was holding the hot soup in my hand, i took warmth from the bowl containing the hot soup.

"After we were all informed that Anabelle was dead, three months later,I received a call from her. I was too shocked to react. She told me that since her father was rich, he created a story that Wilson family was burnt in the fire accident.Most importantly he wanted you to believe so he brought a few bodies and placed them in the portion of his mansion where they were burnt. And as a proof that it was they who were burnt, he made sure the bodies had a few accessories of theirs. He wanted you to believe that they were dead so he made sure the news was telecasted all the way here to Seattle.Belle's entire family stood with them to support the lie. I did ask her why she left you in the first place,to which she never gave a proper reply. Finally she accepted that she left for her own good and that her father was more important than anyone. She even told me not to tell you that she is alive cause she didn't wanted you to disturb her as she had very much moved on with her life, with the help of her family.i then realised that she was never the one meant for you. But still the next day i wanted to let you know about everything,.. that Belle is not dead but you were in a really terrible condition that day. You were drunk heavily and had totally lost your mind. You kept blabbering that you wanted her and you began to hurt yourself. That's when i realised how selfish Belle was. I was so ashamed to call her my friend. I hated her for putting you in such a state. That's when i decided to never speak to you or Jack cause i knew if i began talking to you, i could never keep that secret within me. And if you knew, i was sure you would go behind that girl who is never worth your love. I wanted you to move on. I know i had to be by your side when you were going through so much but had i spoken to you, you wouldn't have ever moved on with your life..."

Hearing Aura talk made me feel so guilty. All this while she has been by my side and i'd kept hating her. Now i had no strength to look at her in her eyes.

"Belle kept calling from then on. I tried a lot to ignore her calls but she never stopped calling me. At one point of time, i just wanted to pick the call and ask her to never to call me thereafter. So one day, when my mobile rang with her number, i picked and began to blast her and asked her to not call me ever. But she begged me to talk to her atleast for old times sake before meeting you and Jack. She was crying on the other end, and i didn't know  what to do. After she pleading me a lot of times,i finally said yes. But i had made a promise to myself that i would never talk about you to her. As a year passed, i could totally see that she was growing distant through her way of talking itself. Then i had stopped getting calls from her frequently. She used to call me once in a blue moon. I never told her that you were married to Ana as well. But i don't know what got into her a week back. She called me and told me that she is flying back here to meet you. I kept going against the idea of she meeting you but she was standing by her words. It's then finally i broke the news to her that you are already married assuming that she would change her mind. But she never did...She was fixed with her decision of meeting you. I was so worried for Ana as well. She trusts you and loves you more than anything and i just don't want you to break her trust. This end, i have my sister and the other end i have Belle. " she sighed heavily and looked more than disturbed.

" Drake, i know you have finally found your other half in Ana and even she feels that you are the one for her. Don't let your past dictate your present and your future. I'm not saying all this only cause Ana is my sister but think about it, Belle could have stayed with you but she never wanted to, at all. And after 5 long years, she comes back to take you away? Anyways it's your life. I'm no one to decide anything for you. I know you must be in a huge confusion with everyone around you saying that the person you loved, the person you thought you would spend your life with and the person you thought was decomposing somewhere in England, is still alive. But it's the truth." she shrugged her shoulders.

Every word Aura spoke was taking its own time to seep itself into my head. I kept replaying her words after she ended, trying to understand each word.

"So what are you planning to do man? " Jack questioned me slowly.

I didn't get what he was talking about.

" Plan on what? " i questioned him back.

" Eh.. Belle asked you to meet her..? " his statement came more as a question.

Now Aura and Jack was looking at me intently for my answer.

I threw my hands in the air and shook my head in frustration.
"I don't know bro! I have no clue!!"
