16. A Crush On My Husband

We broke our hugs to look at each other.

"Annie..." He seemed to look more than relieved to have me back while calling out to me. "I missed you more than you can imagine." He whispered in my ears. I smiled at his words.

We then intertwined our fingers and strolled down in the garden. He let out a heavy sigh and then spoke.

"How are you Annie?..I went crazy in these past 6 years. I almost began to behave like a psychotic person. At a very young age, I lost mom and then immediately even you were taken away from me. The one support..the one companion after my mom is you and even you were gone, leaving me all alone... 6 years was truly a long nightmare. Each year I lived in a different country. It was totally like nomadic life. I wasn't myself at all...
I began to love solitude rather than mingling with people. I ended up becoming a lonely chap. Though dad has loads of hotel in many parts of the world. I don't take interest in them at all. Dad has neva cared about me. He was more interested in developing and spreading his hotels all over the world. But once when he realised I was the next in line to take care of his empire of restaurants and hotels, he began to take interest in his son. It annoyed me like crazily. So then I knew it was my turn to take advantage of his weakness. I made a deal with him that I would take up the business only if we settle ourselves here in Seattle and meet you..." Issa became a little emotional. I rubbed his back to let him feel better, so he could continue. "At first he opposed my idea of the deal. But later he agreed unwantingly cause I stood firm with my words."

He let his head down to make his eyes meet the ground. He looked sad and embarrassed. I gave my complete attention to him and raised his head with my fingers so his eyes could meet mine. I forced my sunshine smile out keeping all my wretched emotions behind.

"Hey...what happened?" I asked him.

"No,.nothing...I j-just feel guilty for not meeting you a little early."

"Hey...that's okay. I'm glad we made it atleast now. And I know how you feel...even I had a hard time to overcome the thoughts of our happy days. My mom helped me a lot and Molly also gave me a job of a chef at his place so I could keep my mind occupied." I told him.

"That's good!! I was even more worried when I realised that I had to leave you in solitary.... I'm so sorry Annie..."

"Even I'm so sorry.... I did have a tough time. Later my cousin,Aura helped me get outta all the confusions in my head and heart... So yeah...I wasn't left alone..." He smiled with a relief radiating from his face.

"So Iss- eh... Anushk...how you?" I wasn't sure if I had to call him like the way I had when we were kids. He gave me a questioning look with sadness in his eyes. Immediately I placed my hands on his shoulders outta concern.

"Have I become a third person to you.. Annie??.." His eyes held disappointment.

How could I think he would feel uncomfortable if I had referred him as Issa? Darn you, Ana!! I mentally slapped myself twice.

"Am so sorry Issa!!" I chuckled at his pout. Instantly his eyes brightened up like a kid who just caught sight of a candy at a fair. I chuckled at him yet again.

"Arghh... Its been a really long time. Not bad Annie..you have grown." He curved his lips in appreciation while saying. "I thought you would be the same puny girl whom I had seen years back." He winked at me. "Well,but still you are still my same old shorty." With that he hugged and began to tickle me. I couldn't help but laugh along with him. This moment seemed so wonderful. It felt like we were reliving the lost 6 years.

Later we walked along together holding hands in silence with the entire dark sky smiling at us.

"Psstt... Look there!! A swing!!" He pops his head at me. There was a kid's park beside the garden. Both of us had stars twinkling in our eyes. Haha..

"Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" He gave a smile which was funnily-dark. Even my smile had the same weird evilness in them.
