34. A Crush On My Husband

ISSA ANUSHK POV :

"Good evening sir. " the maid greeted me while i entered the mansion, expecting me to order her to prepare my dinner.

I sighed deeply.

"Good evening. I don't require any dinner tonight. And don't let anyone enter my room unless I call for." I ordered her and ascended the huge marble stairs.

"Hello son." The two words from the familiar deep,hoarse voice made me gulp hard. My father Joseph has never had a liking towards Ana and now if he knows that I'm disappointed with Ana's revelation, he might end up hating her even more.

"Da-dad...when did you come back from Australia?" He flew to look over our hotels in Australia regarding the working conditions of the staffs and other important documentation work. But i had no clue that he would be back home tonight. Damn! Had i known earlier, i wouldn't have come here and would have rather stayed up the entire night in one of our hotels,working late night. I just wanna be on my own.

"That doesn't matter now. But what's wrong with you son. You seem so devastated." He held my shoulders so he could see me properly.

"No- nothing dad. Just tired." I tried to avoid his piercing gaze.

"Stop Lying!! And spit it out!!" He commanded me

"Ana is married." i say and as soon as he hears me,he began to laugh.

Well, thats not what i expected him to do. Well, atleast i expected him to understand me and give me a hand when i'm depressed right now. But instead he laughs. Not just a normal laugh but a very sarcastic one.

He continues to laugh while i'm gaping at him.

"I knew this day would come at some point of your life."

I felt so embarrassed and ashamed.

"That lady is never worth our standards. Have you ever thought why she never revealed about she being married earlier to you? No. I know you will never get that question in your head cause you think of her more than just as a friend. I'm pretty sure even she is very much aware of your feelings for her. She is just faking what she is seeing. She just wants to take advantage of your love, Anushk which you are not even looking through!! Atleast from now on,get your shit right and stop brooding over a woman who will never match the value we have."

I exhaled deeply. I was well prepared even before he began his speech about her.

"Dad...You were the one who brought her back in my life. I'm very much sure that you knew about this. Why didn't you let me know about it?" I almost outcry at him.

"Yes I knew about it. I shall not lie, but I waited to know,when SHE would tell about it to you herself and just as I had in mind...she never planned to reveal it to you for how long?..about a month?huh?"

"But she never-" Immediately he cuts me off mid-sentence.

"Now don't reason out that she never had any circumstances to tell you that she had a husband. Come on, its almost a month and she never even had a tiny little chance to tell you."

This made me think a little. While applying for jobs,people do write formal application of joining any work for that matter. I never let Anastasia do that. I took care of that myself. Her name in the form is Anastasia Greene and that I typed it out on my own for my own best friend. So the opportunity of letting her tell me that she is married in the very beginning was taken away by me. And later on...I don't think we had any time in personal. All we spoke, every time we meet was only work-related. I sighed in frustration.
