42. A Crush On My Husband

DRAKE'S POV :

I dragged my feet towards my apartment like a snail,not exactly knowing what i was thinking about.

Now standing in front of the door, i tried to erase off my worried look and replace it with a neutral and a subtle one.

I unlocked the door to see the place really silent. When i strolled across the small passage, i saw Ana cuddled up with the cushions on the couch which i usually sleep on. Looks like she slept while waiting for me. Looking at her sleep peacefully like an angel, made me smile. She always brings me happiness. And i somehow always bring her trouble...

I sighed and walked up to her. Her messy tresses were covering her beautiful face, i slowly removed them away letting her clear and calm face at display.

I got up to scoop her from the couch slowly to make sure she doesn't wake up. Once she was in my arms, she seemed to get closer against my chest, trying to cuddle, which made me grin like an idiot. I should say this, she is so cute while she is asleep.

I carried her to the bedroom steadily and when i reached the side of the bed, i let her roll on it. She hugged the other pillow which was beside the one on which her head was placed.

I stood there a little longer, admiring her. How can i even think of losing Ana for someone who had left me years back just to come back to claim that I'm hers?! Screw that lady!!

I sat beside Ana while she was fast asleep. I was very much conscious of not getting near her when she is not aware about it. First i had to solve Anabelle and pack her up from this place!! I made up my mind to meet her to let her know that i would never meet her ever!!

Well, I was really proud of my decision!I placed a soft kiss on Ana's forehead to which she smiled in her sleep.

"Good night Ana.. "i whispered in her ears before leaving the room to sleep on my usual place, the couch.

ANASTASIA'S POV :

Next morning i wake up to see myself on bed. He must have brought me in here. I smiled at the thoughts of last night.

Drake was ready to make love to me!!  Thinking of that made me blush even harder.

I turned towards the other side of the bed, hoping to see Drake sleeping. But to my dismay, the other end of the bed looked untouched. There was no sign that Drake slept on the bed with me.

Immediately i climbed down the bed to look for him in the hall.

No signs.

But there was a note from him...

'Good morning Ana!! Have a really important meeting tonight!! Might come home late. See you in the evening!'

I felt like i could read between the lines. His words radiated tension. Must be again some work related pressure. High posts comes with huge responsibilities, right?

                Finally after two hours I was ready to leave the apartment for work. I picked my bag, and grabbed my keys to head to work.

In 15 minutes, i reached Renaissance. Well, actually i left home early to reach the restaurant early. Guess why?
Yes, i had to meet Issa by hook or by crook. I know he goes to his cabin early so he could prepare his schedule for that particular day.

I knocked the door before i let myself in.

"Hey... " i greet him while panting since i ran to get to his cabin, thinking that he would possibly not be there.

Of Course, he was taken back since i was right in front him when all this while he made great efforts to stay away from me. Immediately he stood up.
"Sit Ana.. " he showed me to a chair.

He looked everywhere but me and he seemed really nervous. So i decided to begin.

" Issa...? "

" Hi. "

That's all?!

" Iss-" even before i could explain everything, he stopped me.

"Anna... It was all my mistake. There was nothing for me to be angry about...." he looked really guilty.
"In fact i got to be happy for you... "

" But Issa you lov-" i tried to explain that there was nothing wrong on his side.

"Yes! I did love you. But i guess i loved you more, that i couldn't let you have your way." he inhaled deeply.  "Ana it wasn't your mistake at all. There came no situation where you had to tell you were married. After so many days of staying away from you, i got a chance to calm myself down and let everything sink in to make themselves bring sense to me. And moreover i don't think i want to make anything awkward between us leading to a crack in our long-term friendship. When I'm left alone with a problem, i definitely come with a very sensible solution. In the initial days after your revelation, i was not myself at all. I couldn't think straight but gradually i did convince myself with the truth." He shrugged his shoulders with his eyes beaming sadness.  "Anyways now that you are married. I wish you all happiness in your life. I just want you to be happy"  now he looked truly glad for me.

I smiled back at him sadly. Well, i didn't know what to reply back. I was lost of words.

"And oh, if he brings any sort of pain to my Annie, i swear, I'll break his neck!! "  those words of his, broke the awkward silence, making me laugh heartily.

"Isssaaaaa!!!!" i threw myself at him to give a huge bear-hug.

"Hahhaaha!!  Anieeee!!! "  At first he was stiff but later on returned back my hug.

" Damn!! I thought i was going to lose you, again. " i said him the truth.

" Me too, Aniee. Me too... That's the reason, i looked into the truth deeply and decided to accept. " he winked at me to which i giggle back.

" Now that we have settled our misunderstanding, shall we go grab a cup up coffee to celebrate? " he asked me, tilting his head to see me.

" Yeah sure!! " I jumped in excitement and hurried as my shift was to start in another 10 minutes.
