"Roshni, what are you doing?" my dad brought me out of my thoughts. For the past 30 minutes, I had absentmindedly been changing through different channels on TV.
"Sorry Papa, I was just trying to find a good show to watch." I tried to make an excuse, but my father could clearly see that I was disturbed. He sat next to me on the sofa and consoled me by saying, "Beta, your mom told me about what happened. But I know, that my Roshni is a brave girl!" he boosted. I gave a slight but assuring nod. No way was I going to let Faisal and Jannat succeed in their plan of ruining me. All the memories made with them would remind me of the pain they gave me. However, it would encourage me to take revenge!
...
"Roshni, can I come in?" Noor di knocked on my room door.
"Di, in all these years, have you ever had to knock to enter my room?" With that, she came in with a smile.
"What have you done to your room?" She gasped, seeing the mess in my room.
"Actually di, I was rearranging my room...sort of renovating it." I said sheepishly.
"You're okay, right?" she frowned touching my head to see if I had fever.
"Diii!" I shook her hand from my forehead. "I am fine! I just wanted to change my room, see it has become so boring!" I frowned.
"Okay... as long as you pick up the mess before Mom enters the room... you know she hates untidiness." We both burst into laughter before composing ourselves. My sister was about to leave when she turned and remembered something.
"Oh Roshni! I forgot to tell you... I just heard this really cool news on TV." She began.
"Since when did you start watching news on TV, Noor di?" I giggled.
"Okay okay, my friend told me.." she admitted.
"See, I know you so well!" I declared victoriously.
"Now can I speak?" My sister asked in mock frustration.
"Avashya!" I approved, flaunting my Ancient Hindi. My smile soon turned into a grim face as the past memories rushed through my mind. No. I would not let my past ruin my present.
"Roshni, you okay?" Noor di asked, concerned. I gave her an assuring smile to which she continued.
"Okay, so I heard this really cool thing. And it is related to you. So, scientists have recently discovered something new about Auras which are basically sort of a second skin around you, and can only be seen by people who either have special auras or those who have studied very deeply in that field." She informed.
"Don't everyone have auras?" I questioned.
"I thought the same, but apparently not everyone has a special aura. Researchers have further stated that people whose soul has been part of a brave or extraordinary person can only have exceptional auras."
"Can have exceptional auras? You mean they do not have it initially?"
"No, there is this process called the Development, which will revive the aura in a person. People who have rare auras have the access to supernatural powers too." Noor di beamed.
"Di, how can this be possible? Weren't super powers only in fairy tales?" I giggled.
"Well, fairy tales are coming true then." She shrugged before turning serious.
"Okay, so you said that all of this is related to me. So, may I know how is this relevant?" I raised my eyebrows.
"Yes, I think that this relevant to you. Remember how you always used to say that you and Maharani Ajabde have this indescribable connection?" She reminded in whisper so that no one could hear. I hadn't told anyone else about my connection other than Noor di...and Faisal.
"Yeah... but that was nothing, you had said it was probably due to my attachment towards the show." I whispered back, preparing myself to what my sister had to say.
"I think I was wrong Roshni.... I think you are Maharani Ajabde Punwar..."
