Chapter Seven - Yet Another Blackmailed Date
"So, Mr. Devil, where to?" I smirk.
"Hell's Kitchen. The perfect place for Mr and Mrs Devil." Ray smirks back.
"Hahaha!" I give a fake laugh. "Now, seriously, where to?" I ask with a blank face.
"We're gonna catch a movie now. Come on." Ray grabs my hand and makes a dash for the cinema. We make it in 5 minutes and stand in the queue to buy our tickets.
"So you wanna watch "This means War", huh?" Ray raise his eyebrow.
"Yep! A mix of comedy, romance and action." I grin.
"That's what I like about you. You're not the kind of girl who always wants to watch a fling."
"Ugh! Who'd wanna watch a fling anyway?" I shrug.
"Girls like Avery White."
"You dated her?"
"Of course. Did you forget? I'm Ray Tulden."
Oh geez. I really did forget that.
"So you guys have an on-and-off relationship, don't you?
"I guess so." Ray looks away. "Two tickets for This Means War," he says to the counter guy before handing him over a note and heading towards the cinema hall.
"I want some snacks." I pout.
"I should've known," he rolls his eyes and hands me a note. "Get a coke for me too."
"Thanks." I grin and hop to the snacks counter. "A bucket of popcorn and two coke please."
"There you go," the guy at the counter hands me my snacks and I hand him a note. "Thanks."
"Hurry up!" Ray grabs my hand and gets inside the cinema. We take our seats and soon the movie starts. I munch on the popcorn the whole time.
Ray puts his arm around my shoulder but I slap his hand away. "Watch it!"
"I should've known," he rolls his eyes.
"Yeah, you should've known."
The movie finally ends and we head to the exit. "Okay so are you dropping me home or not?" I ask Ray.
"Our date isn't over yet, kitty. We got a restaurant to crash." He smirks before leading me to his car and speeding off after we get in. We soon reach our destination and get out of the car and into the restaurant.
My eyes widen when I see Josh sitting with a blond slim pretty girl. Sure, it's fine if he goes out on dates with other girls, but didn't he say that he likes me before he asked me out?
Ray also notices Josh. "Looks like your 2nd best man is here too."
"2nd best? And who's the 1st then?" I raise my eyebrow.
"Me, duh!"
"God, Ray, you're unbelievable!" I laugh and take a seat on the table where Ray was sitting.
We order our food when suddenly Josh notices us. He comes up to us.
"Hey, Ray. Hey, Dani."
"Hey," Ray and I both say in unison.
"Um, Dani, can I talk to you for a sec?"
"Uh, okay," I reply with uncertainity. "I'll be back, Ray."
