Chapter Thirty One - It Wasn't Real

"Thanks for the ride!" I grin as I wave at Jason.

"No probs, Dani! And good work today; thank whatever made you so happy today that you made it possible to complete half of the project!" Jason grins, before driving away.

I laugh.

Jason should thank Ray then.

Before I could ring the doorbell, Mia hurried out the door. "So what's so important you had to come over to my house right after school and your project date with Jason?"

I roll my eyes. "Let me in first."

"Come in, your majesty," she makes way for me.

We go up to Mia's room and I get comfortable in her bed.

"Oohhmmyygaawdd!!!" I was definitely ready to hear Mia's squealing and screeching after I recalled today's incident to her.

"Oohhheemmgee!!!!" She, was still, screeching.

"Shut up."

"What happened after he said that he loves you and you stopped making out??" She asks, literally jumping up and down, clapping her hands.

I shrug. "He dropped me home."

That, made Mia stop everything she was doing and gape and me like I had just stated that she was in love with Jake.

"Are you kidding me? Are you fucking kidding me?" She throws her hands in the air. "If he just dropped you off home after a steamy make out session, wherein you both confessed your feelings for each other, I'm taking you and him to the mental hospital right now!"

I roll my eyes, though my lips tugging upwards. "You're making such a big deal out of this."

"Big deal? Isn't it normal for the girl and boy to become a couple or go out after they confess to each other?"

"Well, yeah, but, in our case.."

"Ugh! Both of you are so unbelievable- which makes you both the perfect couple!" And thennn, she starts gushing about how me and Ray are meant to be and yada yada, leaving behind all the lectures about me and Ray being not normal.

I roll my eyes and let out a chuckle.

Oh, Mia.

Speaking about Ray and me, I can't believe what had happened back then.

He said that he loves me.

My lips form into a bright smile immediately.

"So what are you gonna do?" Mia starts whining. "You and Ray should talk."

I find myself nodding. "You're right. I'll talk to him tomorrow."

And I can't wait for the result.

But what if; what if the result isn't what you're expecting, Danina?

Shuddup, stupid voice in my head.

"This whole thing made me how mad I am at Jake."

Then it hits me.

"Aah.." I say. "Same here."

I instantly feel down at the mere mention of it.

"I love you, Dani." Ray's voice rings in my mind.
