Chapter Twenty Seven - Friends With Benefits?
Jake's Pov
"Going home already, Jake darling?" Amy, a petite girl, or should I say, slut, asked as she lay on her bed sideways, her hand holding up her head.
"Yeah," I say nonchalantly.
"Aww," she pouts. "Don't go now!"
"It's already dark now so I have to."
"Well, let's meet again soon here again," she says seductively. "And we'll go all the way next time."
Eww, no way.
"Sure," I grab my jacket, leave her house and get into my car.
Just then my cell starts blasting music.
"Hello?" I say.
"J- Jake?" A panicking voice says.
"Avery?!" My brows scrunch together in confusion. "What are you-"
"Look, could you just please pick me up near Cafe Brew?" She asks, more like pleads.
"What? Why-"
"Please!" She cries. "There are some guys following me!"
I gulp. "I'll be there."
I start the car and drive as fast as I can to Cafe Brew. It was a good thing that it wasn't that far from here.
After about five minutes, I reach the cafe. I get out of the car and run around, searching for Avery.
Just then, I hear a scrunching sound so I follow where the sound came from, leading me to a narrow path. There, I see a faint figure in the dark.
"Avery?" I whisper.
"J- Jake?" A voice whispers back.
"Yeah, it's me."
"Jake!" She runs towards me and hugs me, taking me by surprise.
"Whoah," I stand awkwardly as she hugs me tightly, trembling and shivering.
Finally, I decide to hug her back. She stiffens a bit as I put my arms around her but after some seconds, she gets back to normal.
"Shit!" She gasps.
"What's wrong?" I ask.
"They're coming over here!" She starts panicking. "What do we do?!"
I look back and see three guys, big and buff.
Okay, there's no way I'm fighting them.
"Oh my god! They've seen us and they're heading right over here!"
"Calm down," I put my hands on her shoulder. "I've got this, okay? Just cooperate with me."
"Okay, what do I do?" She gulps.
"Just wait-"
"Oh, hey there," A voice says smugly, and I immediately know it belonged to one of the three guys.
Time to put my plan into action.
I cup Avery's panicked and confused face, my thumb tracing over her high cheekbones. Then I lean in and press my lips to hers.
She gasps. "Just play along," I whisper against her lips before kissing her again.
I move my lips against her soft plump ones, erupting tingles and electricity across my body. This time she kisses me back and throws her arms round my neck as I wrap my arms around her waist.
