Chapter Eighteen - A Little Not Too Heartbroken
Being embarrassed was an understatement after realising what just happened.
"Ahh," I try to hide my blush.
"Don't worry about it," he smirks.
"Worry about what?"
"Don't worry about me telling Josh that you actually like me, not him," he smirks.
"Oh, right!" I roll my eyes.
"So, are you breaking up with him?" He asks, his voice uncertain.
"No, I am just going to wait for him to dump me," I sigh.
"What if he doesn't?"
"Oh, trust me, he will. After all, I'm not the one he really loves," I shrug.
"You sure he'll realise that? He's an idiot, you know."
"What makes you say that he's an idiot?" I laugh.
"He's going for another girl when he's got a much prettier and better girl as his girlfriend. Of course, he's an idiot!"
I blush and clear my throat.
"C'mon, I'll drop you home," Ray leads me.
"Ah, no, it's fine! I'll walk," I quickly say.
"Just c'mon!" He rolls his eyes.
"No! I said I'm walking!" I shake my head.
"No point in arguing with a stubborn head like you," he says before lifting me up from the ground and carrying me over his shoulder.
"Wha- Ray!!! Put me down!!!" I scream.
"On one condition," he smirks. "You have to let me drop you home."
"Ugh, fine! Now, put me down!"
"As you wish, princess."
The next thing I felt was completely unexpected from my part. Well, Ray being Ray, it was expected though, but not at a time like this, when I was heartbroken.
"RAAAYYYY!!!!!" I yell as I stand up from the ground, rubbing my sore butt.
"What?" He stifles a laugh. "Didn't you tell me to put you down?"
"Why, you-" I growl as he snickers and runs.
I run after him, yelling and screaming at him. Finally I reach him, which was easy, as he stopped running as soon as he reached his car.
"You-" He interrupts me by grabbing my hand and pushing me inside his car.
I scowl as he starts the engine, smirking.
"You're an ass," I mumble.
"A very sexy ass," he smirks as I roll my eyes.
After a period of silence, I open my mouth to ask him something I was very curious about.
"Um, Ray?" I say meekly.
"Yeah?"
"Uh, you knew that Josh was cheating on me, didn't you?"
"Um, I guess," he mumbled.
"Since when and how?"
"Why should I tell you?"
"Ray, please. I need to know everything."
"No, you don't," he grips at the steering wheel tightly.
"Ray."
He let out a sigh.
"Fine!" He agrees.
