Chapter Fourteen - Blasting It Up

"Josh is cheating on you," I hear the five words I was afraid of from Mia's mouth.

"What???" I shriek. "You can't just predict something like that! Besides, he's a nice guy, there's no way he'll cheat on his girlfriend!"

"I mean, the type of cheating when you and Ray made out at Nicole's party!"

"Oh. But how do you know?"

"If Josh was making out with some random girl at a party, would you easily forgive him?"

I grit my teeth at that. "No way! Even if he was wasted, it would take a lot of time to forgive him!"

"See? How come Josh easily forgave you just like that?"

"When did you become a genius?" I retort.

"I always was, it just took you this long to figure it out."

"But how can you be so sure that he's kind of cheating on me???" I wail.

"I'm not sure! It's just a hunch. A very clear hunch!" She raises her hands in defense.

I pout. What if what Mia's saying is true?

"Look, Dani. I don't want to hurt you or anything but it seems like-" She stops halfway.

"Seems like what?" I gulp.

"Oh, forget it!"

"Ugh! Tell me, please!!!!"

"Nope!"

"Please???"

"Never!"

I huff and pout. That's how stubborn Mia is! Don't know why I'm the one who is always called "stubborn" and not her.

I snatch the bucket of ice cream from Mia's hands and dig on it, gulping it like there is no tomorrow, making Mia clutch her stomach and laugh like a retarded seal.

"You-" I burst out lughing.

We keep on laughing for another 5 minutes before calming ourselves.

"Man, that was a good laugh," I grin and rub my eyes.

"It sure was! Haven't laughed like that in a long time after two somebodys took an interest in you," Mia smirks.

"What's that supposed to mean?" I smack her arm.

"Ow!" She rubs her arm. "You were too into them to hang out with me, ever!"

"You're exaggerating."

"Okay, yes, I am, a little."

I let out a laugh. "This is fun!"

"I know, right?" Mia grins. "Now how about some 'singing marathon'?"

"I wouldn't miss it for the world!"

"Come in!" Jake grins as he opens the door and gestures us to get in.

"Hey, Jakey," I say.

"Let's have a blast!" Mia grins.

"Um, what's up with both of your voices? It seems kind of rough?" Jake frowns.

"Oh, we had a singing marathon last night. The best ever!" I grin.

"Thank goodness I wasn't there!"

"Hey!" Mia slings her arm over my shoulder. "We're great singers!"

"Yeah, legendary, the best!" I grin.
