Chapter Fifteen - No Sparks
After having loads and loads of fun with my friends, my head was filled with tension, stress and confusion as I entered the school building on Monday and saw Josh.
And Ray.
And Melissa.
I sigh and as much as I wanted to go back home, I just take a deep breath and walk down the hall.
"Good morning, Dani!" I stop in my tracks and turn to Ray.
"Good morning, Ray," I smile sheepishly.
"Hey, Dani! Good morning!" Josh, who is, unfortunately standing next to Ray, says.
"Good morning to you too, Josh," I fake a smile.
"Oh, hey, Dani!" Melissa grins.
I mentally groan. Do I have to meet the people I don't want to meet first thing in the morning?
"Hey, Melissa," I smile.
"What class do you have next?" She asks.
"Chemistery."
"Me too! Let's head to class together then!"
"Um, yeah, sure."
"Dani! How's it going between you and-" Mia stops her sentence as she notices Melissa. "Oh, hi! Melissa, right?"
"Yep! You're Mia, aren't you?" Melissa beams.
"Yeah, I am. Hehe," Mia smiles sheepishly and gives a look that says "I-am-so-feeling-uncomfy-with-this-girl", making me stiffle a laugh.
The three of us head to our next class, Chemistery. Mia sits in front of me while Melissa sits two seats away from me.
"So, that's the girl Josh is cheating on you with," Mia turns back at me and I slap her arm.
"Might be cheating on me!" I scowl.
"Okay, okay, fine," A hint of pity flashes through her eyes.
Great, now my female best friend pities me?!!
Oh, joy!
___
"Hey, my girls!" Jake chortles.
"Hey, Jake," Mia says.
"Won't you greet me, Dani?" Jake pouts.
"She's not in a good mood, Jake. So you better not annoy her," Mia laughs.
As for me, I don't say a thing. I was deeply in thought. About, you know what.
Suddenly, someone bumps into me.
"Hey! Watch it, nerd!" Avery glares at me.
"You're the one who bumped into me!" I glare at her back.
"Says who?"
"I do!"
"So what, bitch?"
"Says the biggest bitch of all time," I snort.
"Watch your mouth!" Avery scowls.
"Or what?" I retort. "You gonna spread fake rumors about me through the guys you slept with, you whore?"
"You calling me a whore?" Avery sneers.
"Well, that's because you are a whore!" Mia rolls her eyes. "Right, Jake?"
"Um," Jake mumbles.
"Jake?" I frown.
"He can't say that I'm a whore," Avery smirks. "After all, there's a bigger whore here than me."
