Chapter Eleven - Getting Drunk Is Definitely Not My Thing
I wake up feeling nauseous and completely dizzy.
The first question that pops into my head is:
Where am I?
After looking around and taking a good look of my surrounding, I realise I was at home, on my bed.
What happened last night? I don't remember anything except that I was drinking an orange juice at Nicole's party.
Suddenly, I feel something shooting up so I quickly race to the bathroom and throw up.
God, I am definitely having a hangover.
But the question is, why? I didn't drink anything with alcohol in it! Or maybe, the orange drink was spiked? Yeah, that must probably be it.
I get back to my bed and soon, my mom comes inside my room. "You okay, honey? Here, take an aspirin," my mom hands an aspirin with a glass of water and I take it from her hand.
"Thanks, mom," I sigh. "I don't remember anything that happened last night. Heck, I don't even know how I got drunk, mom!"
"It was the orange drink. It was spiked but you didn't know it so it's fine, dear. And don't worry, you'll remember everything soon, it was your first time getting drunk that's why you can't remember."
I pop the aspirin into my mouth and gulp it down with the water. "But how did you know, mom?"
"Jake brought you home and told me everything," she smiled. "He was pretty drunk too but he can control his alcohol, or so he said."
"Oh."
"Take a good rest, dear. I'll be downstairs if you need anything."
"Thanks, mom."
I sigh and snuggle up on my bed after my mom exits my room. Just when I was getting pretty comfortable, I hear my phone ringing. Ugh! Why now? After muttering a few curses, I answer the call.
"Dani? Where are you? Are you okay??" A familiar voice screams through the phone.
"Woah! Calm down, Mia, I'm alright," I assure her.
"Thank God!" She heaves a sigh of relief.
"But the thing is, I can't remember what happened after I drank the orange drink, which was definitely spiked."
"You don't? Ah, don't worry, it happened to me once or twice too but you'll soon remember everything," She says. "And, Dani?"
"Yeah?"
"CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR FIRST TIME GETTING DRUNK!!!"
"Geez, don't wear it out."
"Heeheee."
"Do you, by any chance, know what I was doing after I got drunk?"
"Nope, but I heard that you were singing your lungs out at one point of time."
"What? Oh my gosh, that's so embarrassing!"
"From what I've heard, you were quite the singer."
"Ugh! I got to go now, I'm having a hangover so bye."
"Bye!"
I huff and get back to bed and soon, I fall asleep. After an hour or so, I wake up feeling much better so I start listening to music from my playlist. I come across a Japanese song called "Kimi Ni Toriko" and as I listen to it, I get some flashbacks. Shocked, I pause the song and concentrate. That's when I start remembering everything that happened last night.
