"This is it. My last day of freedom." Calum exclaimed dramatically, pacing up and down his bedroom.

"You're being overdramatic Calum." Ashton said, rolling his eyes.

"Am I really? Michael, the person I hate the most in the world, is coming to live here, in my house, my room for a week and I'm supposed to be fine with that!"

"It's Michael, what the harm can he do?" Ashton chuckled, leaning against Calum's bedroom wall. "The boy's pretty useless at everything except video games and pissing you off."

"He can throw a good punch if he wants to," Calum replied, holding the point above his left eye where Michael had punched him weeks earlier. "And pissing me off isn't exactly a skill to be proud of."

"Calum, you're going to fine. Michael isn't stupid enough to anything while your mum is here, you said yourself he's super nice around her."

"She's not going to here all the time, and he's going to be in my room! That's a violation of my privacy!" Calum exclaimed, continuing to pace backwards and forwards in front of Ashton.

"Oh for gods sake Calum, Michael is fucking harmless. You are just too blinded by hatred to see that. He's not a bad person, and neither are you. Both of you need to grow up and be civil for once."

"Are you my best friend or a fucking teacher?" Calum snapped, stopping his pacing and facing Ashton. "Because Mum, Mr Youngson and the principal have said pretty much the same thing to me."

"And you obviously didn't listen, so I'm telling you, in the hope that you will listen to your best friend at least." Ashton shot back. "You need to stop panicking so much about this. You're letting him get inside your head, which is what he wants. I doubt Michael is pacing up and down his room right now, freaking out because he has to share a room with you for a week."

"That's because-"

"Don't you dare finish that sentence Calum."

"-I'm just that great to be around."

Ashton grabbed a pillow from next to him and threw it at Calum, hitting him square in the face.

"What was that for?" Calum demanded, chucking the pillow back at Ashton.

"You finished the sentence," Ashton shrugged, fidgeting with the edge of Calum's duvet absentmindedly.

"I hate you."

"I thought those three words were reserved for Michael," Ashton smirked. Calum went to grab a pillow off his bed, but Ashton grabbed his arm, shaking his head and tutting loudly.

"I've told you before that violence is not the answer."

"You're almost as annoying as he is!" Calum huffed, sitting down in his bed next to Ashton.

"I'm hurt," Ashton pouted, placing his hand over his heart.

"You better be glad that I'm not sitting next to the pillows right now," Calum growled.

"Super aggressive."

"Shut up." Calum grumbled. A comfortable silence fell over them. Calum was staring at the opposite wall, deep in thought and Ashton had just run out if things to say. They just sat, side by side, on Calum's bed. It was a sign of a great friendship, despite their small disagreement minutes before.

"Ashton?" Calum asked after several minutes of silence. "What if he tells my mum I'm gay?"

"He's not going to tell your mum you're gay Cal," Ashton sighed. "No half decent person would do that to someone."
